That to me was an action movie. So. And it was, it was action and thriller and just, you know, twists and turns. Yeah. Did anybody, I mean, I’m, I’m sling said something about the Rabbit and Area 51 and I didn’t, I, I hadn’t picked up on that. Yeah, it’s the funny thing is, is that the whole, the whole Manor gate thing was a joke. They were, they were genuinely joking. But I’m not sure if you guys all caught it, but right after she got done shooting the, the Guardsman and said, hey, thanks for your service, then that was when they went to the flashback in time and it was basically what those two people that had come into her office were telling her is like everybody, you know, everybody that was in that thread, it got, it got leaked to the public and it’s like, it’s there.
They were trying to do everything they could to contain it, but it was still, it was spreading like wildfire and it was a joke. They were just, they were joking. They, they weren’t actually killing people. It was, that was their, it’s kind of like they were just using it as a, a theme to, or they were using it as something to like blow off steam. And it was, but it was, but it was, you know, I was kind of fun. Well, I mean, I’m, I know, you know, I’m in, I’m in a few text chains. Sorry guys, I don’t mean to be yawning too much, but like I said, I woke up at like 2:00 this morning.
I just, I couldn’t sleep. So I’m, I’m pretty tired. Pretty tired. So it’s not going to be a long after party, but yeah, she does. SD Garden reminds me of Megyn Kelly and her looks. The, but the, the none of the, you know, I’m in text chains and you know, we talk, it’s, you know, we talk about, you Know the people on the left and whatnot. And so, you know, these people on the, on the left talk about the people on the right. I mean that’s just, that’s just human nature. So, and you know, they’re, they bullshit anyway.
The whole thing was, is that they, they, they found these text chains and then they put it out as though it was real. And so everybody believed it even though, even though the, the, the liberals were, were, were, were, were bullshitting the people were putting it out as though it was real. You know, like on, on message boards and whatnot. You know, people like Alex, Alex Jones would have picked it up. And obviously this music, this, this movie is 100 and 100 total fiction. That, that said, I do not believe that elite hunting humans is fiction.
I think there’s, I think there’s some significant evidence out there. Yeah. And yeah, and then they made it real. Exactly. And, and, and they made it real against the people who were propagating the, the lie that they had stated. So that, that’s the kind of, the whole point and the, the funny thing is is that they thought they got everybody, but the one girl they got that wasn’t it was, was the wrong one who would have very likely been an extraordinarily easy target was this Crystal May. It turns out that they got the wrong one. And she was like a combat veteran in the army.
And I mean, you know, when she was kneeling down at the very beginning at the pond, what she did was she like cut a lock of hair out, put it in her, put it on, on a, on a leaf. And it was allegedly that was somehow magnetic and it was pointing north, so she knew which way north was. And, but, but you know, she, she wasn’t falling for all the crap. And then you kind of got an idea that she was, she knew her. When she said she was listening to the radio and, and was, and I think it was Hillary Swank was like, get off to turn off the radio.
She’s like, wow, at least one of you, one of you guys is smart. So. Yeah, but yeah, no, it’s. Well, I found, I found something here, let me play it. I found that, I found a couple of links that I will share in the description. I just, I was, I’m so tired. I didn’t, I actually failed to set up the, I failed to set up the, the after party and put all the links in there. But I will give you guys these links and you could go back and watch them if you so choose. But in fact, here, let me share My.
Okay, so fix this up a little bit. It’s not working. Where is it? Damn it. Okay, here we go. This is the first. This is the first one. And the title of this video is Human Hunting Parties and Royal Elite. So this is. This is real. And then there was this one, which was a YouTube video, and it was talking about, do elites hunt humans? I found. I found several references to some of these things, and I’ll. Like I said, I’ll put them in the links for you guys to watch. This. This video is like 20 minutes.
This video is 16. So it was a good, you know, it’s a good. Almost like, what, 35 minutes or so of, of watching. And then. And then there’s a few other links that I found that were websites that talked, you know, that kind of went in detail and talked about that. And I, I mean, I’ll go on the record and say that I do believe that that stuff is real 100%, that they do hunt human beings for sport. Hey, thank there. Thank you there. Real special Ed. I appreciate. I. I’m not going to be coming. I can’t come in.
May. I can’t come in. May not have an NA5. Not a fan of what? Just curious. Didn’t like the movie. I mean, you can’t please everybody. I get that, but. And I’m just. I’m curious if, if you didn’t like the movie, what didn’t you like about it? Because I. Look, I realize that not, you know, everybody has different tastes and he’s never gonna please everybody, but I’m curious. I’m genuinely curious as to why, you know, what you mean about not a fan. I, I, again, I, I think I, I said the. I gave the caveat at the outset that it was going to be kind of bloody.
And I actually created. I actually created a. I think for this and let me do the slideshow here. So I created this slideshow and it was, it was. I was going to do this when I played the, The. The preview says, 12 strangers wake up in a clearing. They don’t know where they are or how they got there. They don’t know they’ve been chosen for a very special or for a very specific purpose. The Hunt. And this is the Hunt. Why all the controversy? And essentially what I did was I found an article that I think was a critic who wrote it, but he.
I, I went and I butchered it up and I kind of. I tweaked it to be a little bit more relevant to our time. And it says the Hunt is one of 2019’s most controversial films. Well, not really because the release was originally pulled from Universal Pictures, scheduled due to the backlash from social media due to the content of the film. Obviously the film got got a wide release, though not at a great time. The official release date in the United States was March 13th of 2020, just as everything was locking down. The movie is listed as horror, which I disagree with.
It has violence, but is more of a hybrid of action thriller and satire in my opinion. Here’s a little bit about the long and winding road that the film took to get released. First, the decision from the studio to pull the movie seems strange as we recently had films like or had films like Ready or not in 2019 about a wealthy family hunting a bride to be beyond reach. Excuse me, beyond the reach in 2014 about wealthy Michael Douglas hunting a wilderness guide and happy hunting in 2016 about a small town that hunts drifters and homeless people.
To be fair, besides Ready or Not, many or most of the human hunting movies these days are straight to video on demand and really don’t get the same attention as a wider release. That said, if the protesters were really that upset about the content of a fictional piece of art showing violence against humans, then they should have to protest 90% of all the feature films released. And I agree with that, John. From basically anything from John Wick to the Incredibles. I mean really pick it, pick, pick and choose which stupid hill you die on. I suppose I actually think it was more political than not in my opinion.
And I what I mean by that is I, I, if I remember correctly, it was the. And it wasn’t the, I think it was the lefties that were pissed off that it was a movie that was portraying them as hunting deplorables. The point is the Hunt, about a group of ruthless elitists who hunt humans for sport should not have caused the outrage it did. However, when the Internet trolls chose some or choose something to hate or to find a cause to get behind, good or bad. There is no, excuse me, there are no half measures. The pushback was so intense that it caused the film to be delayed until March.
Go figure. And then I, I did a search actually trying to find movies in Hollywood that have been where humans were hunted for sport and says the human hunting human genre is not new. There are some credible stories and either there are some credible stories in the ether suggesting this is a real thing and not make believe. I compared a list of movies where, or excuse me, I composed a list of movies I’m tired, guys. Sorry. Where the elite or wealthy individuals hunt humans for sport. Going back to 1932. The most dangerous Game, the foundational film for the genre, where a shipwrecked man is hunted on an island by an aristocratic Count Zara for Sport, the 10th victim in 1965, in a future society, a televised big hunt alternates print participants as hunter and victim, with fame and fortune as the prize.
Death ring from 1992, kidnapped men are forced to fight for survival as wealthy hunters pursue them. 1993, hard target homeless men in New Orleans are hunted by wealthy clients for sport, with Jean Claude Van Damme’s character fighting back. 1994, surviving the game, a homeless man is lured into the wilderness and hunted by a group of rich men. Final round. 94 kidnapped individuals are hunted in a televised death match for the entertainment and best betting of wealthy gamblers. Predators in 2010 is. While not about human elites, this film features humans abducted and hunted for sport by alien predators.
Hunt Club from 2022 is a feminist spin on the genre where predatory men hunt women for sport. And then this is other notable films with similar themes. The naked prey from 65, a man is hunted by a tribesman as punishment, though not by elites. The running man in 87, where criminals are hunted for sport on a televised game show in a. In a dystopian future. And Hard Target 2 from 2016, a modern sequel with a similar premise. Another one that I. I didn’t actually put in there though it wasn’t really a hunting for sport was more hunting for survival was Hunger Games.
Hunger Games was very, very similar in. In nature. I said these films all explore the disturbing premise of wealthy or powerful hunting humans for entertainment or sport. A narrative that originated with the Most Dangerous Game. So in looking at the then new marketing strategy for the strategy for the film, it may mark a new era for feature film releases. For those of you unaware, films like the Hunt and recent Invisible man basically go directly to rent on streaming platforms just a few days after the the theater. Wide. Excuse me, a wide theatrical release, another ancillary benefit to the pandemic.
But what it really did was it put another nail in the coffin that is. Or was modern retail cinema locations who have been hemorrhaging customers since beginning in the early 2010s. Covid was. Was a death blow. Yeah, there are still movie theaters, but it’s nothing like it was 20 years ago. And I can attest to that. I mean, shoot, I. I think the last movie I saw, I was invited to go see the movie Dune 2 a year ago, and prior to that I don’t think I’d been to a theater in, I don’t know, maybe 10 years.
It’s just been forever getting to the movie again. I was going to do this ahead of the Ahead of the movie. So this is the movie begins with a resounding musical overturn an office of Hillary Swank, the main baddie, who’s in a group text message chain with her friends. They are discussing how they are excited about killing deplorables and ready to start the hunt. Then we cut to a plane where Dennis Reynolds is pontificating about how wealthy and pretentious he is when one of his passengers wakes up. Turns out the elites drugged and kidnapped a group of people for their hunt and have decided to transfer them on the same plane to the estate where the hunting will take place.
He needless to say that baddies have to kill the early riser. And we quickly learned that these villains are not the super macho types, but dweebish social I too want to play big baddie. And then we are with our heroes as they wake up, play gagged in an in an empty field with a bunch of guns, sticking to the trope of group of strangers wake up in compromising situation. None of our main cast knows how they got there or why they’re there, but they don’t have to wait long because hits the fan immediately. This movie lets you know very quickly that all bets are off.
We are introduced to several celebrity cameos who don’t make it through the opening salvo of bullets and blood. We also get the setup for a love story with the heroic lead character trying to protect the innocent blonde girl, but that goes sideways in seconds. In other words, in the words of Ron Burgundy, that escalated quickly. The narrative takes some twists and turns and goes into some unexpected directions, so I’ll leave the description there. But some of the other aspects of the films there are some fun set pieces. One involving an assault on an elite bunker using a pig you’ll have to see it to understand, and a long final fight between our hero and main antagonist.
For the most part, these were well shot and brutal and did exactly what they needed to do in terms of pushing the narrative forward. And gore hounds. Yes, yes, I don’t think it was horror humor. If you, if you think naming a character dead sexy and then killing said character immediately after she is introduced is funny, then this is your movie. It’s a lot of things, but subtle is not one of them. And the humor is pitch black. Another example is when one of the heroes opens a trunk of a car to find a dead body.
One of the friends says oh, they had the oh don’t oh Jesus. Christmas is Nope, that’s Gary. I thought that was one of the funniest lines of the movie. But anyway, Betty Gilpin is fantastic as the badass hero of the film, but that shouldn’t be a surprise if you’ve seen the Netflix show Glow, which she stars in. Hillary Swank seems to have a lot of fun with her role, but she never really gets to do more than be an over the top villain with questionable motivation. The supporting cast is fun and what would you what would you what you would expect.
Dennis Reynolds is smarmy. The dude from Neighbors is manic. Ethan Supply pretty much plays his character from My Name Is Earl. He is listed on IMDb credits as shut the Up Gary, which I thought was hilarious and I actually went and found it to make sure and it’s sure enough that says that’s that’s how it was listed. I thought that was pretty funny. The 12 the 12th planet I don’t. What do you mean? I I don’t know what you you guys are talking about something else. I think so. The movie takes no prisoners and pokes fun at everyone on all sides of the political divide.
And they hit a few points right on the head. The killers say things like I’m a godless elite or Climate change is real before murdering their victims. They could have There could have really been an interesting point made about how horror typically paints many people from rural slash country settings as inbred brutal killers. But here these characters are the victims. And if I had to guess, I would say that the original pitch was something along the lines of what if the hillbillies were the heroes instead of the villains? And I think it worked by happenstance, especially in early March when many of us were revolting to the mask wearing.
Then there’s a scene about 2000 with Hillary Swank where she’s literally gets fired from her high paying job for making a joke about deplorables. It’s a break in the action where we do a flashback to explain how everyone got to see where they are. As I like the balance of the film, the was tackling big issues and daring to comment on things like cancel culture and ironically enough, social media outrage, which were big topics back in the late teens and and are even bigger now. This very unique movie brings up a lot of issues and I think it’s a great starting point to Bridge some gaps between people with polar opposite views.
And I believe it can be an initiator to start some very important conversations about censorship and what is as societal or what is what we as a society deem as. As going too far or being too extreme. Terms of art and fictional portrayals of violence. Okay, so, so I basically warning people in the next slide that I was going to show some, some messed up pictures, but these are the links that I’m gonna, I’ll, I’ll post in the. I, I showed you a couple of the videos, but then these, these, these are two links about hunting humans.
So anyway, that’s pretty much all I got. Unless, Unless you guys have some questions for me. Let’s see. Where am I? Where am I here? All right, I can’t find it, but okay, so there’s about. Looks like there’s about 78 people in the, in the chat here or in the, in the. That looks like there’s about 78 people here. So let me just kind of go through the comments because I wasn’t really looking at them again. Thanks. Rotomotor. Yeah, Brady will come. Brady is up in New Hampshire. He. He’s not, he wouldn’t make it down there.
Life portraying art. Yeah, the guy said that it wasn’t a fan. I guess he bailed. Didn’t, didn’t, didn’t. Didn’t say why. You know what? I didn’t, I didn’t even, I didn’t even go see Top Gun Maverick in the theaters. I just, I just waited till it came out and I just downloaded it and watched it. So, yeah, I don’t like giving Hollywood any money at all. But I, in, in, in hindsight, that was probably. Top Gun Maverick was definitely a movie that deserved financial support. So anyway, guys, well, I just, I wanted to do something tonight that was kind of fun and interesting.
It’s not, it’s not a topic that really anybody really tackles these days, you know, the human hunting for sport. But I tend to feel as though when the dust settles here with what’s coming, I tend to feel like we may see, you know, some of these things becoming reality. So, I don’t know, let’s. It’s time. Time will tell. I, I think there’s a lot of things that are going to happen that we’re all going to be surprised about. I think there’s some things that are going to happen that we’re not. That we’re not going to be surprised about.
I think there’s going to be some things that we are Surprised about. I think there’s going to be some people that we thought were good and aren’t and I think there’s going to be some people who we thought were bad who also aren’t. I just, I think there’s going to be a lot of. There’s a lot of. There’s a lot of. As they say, life is stranger than fiction. Or. Yeah. So you know. Or truth is stranger than fiction. I think that. I think we’re going to see a lot of crazy stuff. But. But anyway, I am gonna go because I am tired.
I’m gonna crash and I’m gonna. Actually, I’m gonna take a quick shower and then I’m gonna go to bed. So you all. I know it’s early, it’s only like 7:00 on the west coast, but like I said, I’ve been up since 2, so I’m. I’m. I’m. I’m pretty tired. But anyway, I, I want to thank everybody for participating tonight. You guys are great. Love having you here and I love, I love doing the Friday night watch parties with you guys. Really. Really. Do I. What I. Actually, what I need to do is I need to break out the phone and make it more of a.
Make it so you guys can call in on the Friday nights when I do this so that we can actually have discussion. So. But on that note, guys, you all have. Have a great evening. I may have something going tomorrow with, with a couple of friends. I don’t want to say anything about it because I don’t know if it’s actually going to happen. But. And I don’t want to jinx it. But, but there may be something tomorrow. Doubtful I’ll do anything on, on Sunday just because it’s. And I may. Who knows. I. There’s a few things that I’m actually working on right now, so we’ll see.
But, but anyway, y’all enjoy your evening. And if you are a believer, then I hope you will hope you honor Resurrection Day and not Easter. And if you don’t know the difference, I will probably post my Don’t Celebrate Easter video because it’s. If you guys really truly understood the. What Easter was and what all the symbology represents, you would run from it. It’s one thing to celebrate the resurrection of Christ. It’s another thing to celebrate bunny rabbits and Easter eggs and stuff like that. It is not good. So. And you know, ah. Anyway, I’m gonna get off that, make it off that topic.
So anyway, thanks again everybody. Have a fantastic evening. Maybe we’ll see you tomorrow. Maybe Sunday. If not, then absolutely Monday. Would be doing Monday with Ghost. So have a great night, everybody. Chat soon.
