Summary
➡ The article discusses new driving laws that seem to be designed to reduce the number of cars on the road and increase revenue through fines. These laws include penalties for distracted driving, such as handling a device above the dashboard, and for driving alone in high-occupancy vehicle lanes during certain hours. The author criticizes these laws as being potentially abusive and argues that they infringe on drivers’ rights, making it difficult and costly to contest fines. The author predicts that these laws will likely face backlash and may be modified in the future.

But, you know, I just keep thinking Sodom and Gomorrah. And a lot of what we do here in America can go back 4,500 years to Sodom and Gomorrah. Let’s hope that we straighten out our ways. And I’m going to bring you now a little bit more of an earthly problem. And it’s one we don’t really have a choice, because if you’re a Christian, you know, Romans 13, render under Caesar, what is Caesar? Okay. And you got to obey your leaders unless they tell you to do ungodly things. What I’m going to tell you is not ungodly about what’s going to be done to us, but it certainly is a threat to your financial stability and your ability to operate a motor vehicle.
And I warned you this was coming. I did not have the specific details. Now we do. This is going in in the eastern corridor along I-95, stretching almost 2,000 miles from Maine to Florida. And flock cameras are at the basis of it. And you probably already have an idea now where this is going. Stay tuned, because we’re going to cover this with you in some detail. Now, I was at our attorney’s office, the guy that set up our trust. And he told me about inheritance laws. And he said, you’re not going to believe what has happened now at the tail end of the Biden administration, where your kids are probably not going to be able to afford to keep what you have unless you structure your property differently, your will differently, your trust differently.
And he started explaining it. And my wife looked at me and she said, Iron Hawk financial. Yes. That’s one of the advantages of doing business with them. The other is you set up revenue streams from your end of life planning. So you preserve your inheritance for your children. You set up income streams where you’re not paying tax perfectly legal and ethical. IRS code 7702 that previously was unknown to the average person. And if you’re sitting on some money and you’re saying, what do I do? Well, the banks are a bad idea.
Why? Use operating capital, because that’s a losing game. They pay you two and three or four percent below what the inflation rate is. That’s a losing proposition on its face. We don’t even need to go any further with that. So you need to do something else with your money. And we have an answer for you at Iron Hawk. Now, this isn’t for everybody. And when you call them, they’ll tell you within two or three minutes, this is for you or not for you. And if it’s not for you, they often suggest other alternatives that you can follow.
So what do you do to find out more? Well, all you got to do is go to D H Hawk dot com. H A W K D H Hawk dot com. Put in your contact information. Now, they’re not going to push you to do anything. And like I said, the intro is pretty brief. The process has stretched out 30 to 90 days because it’s technical and it’s highly legal. And you’re not going to have the IRS breathing down your throat because you’re following their rules. And Joe Lombardi has never lost a dime of client money.
He’s never had a better business bureau complaint. A plus rating for Iron Hawk Financial. D H Hawk dot com is where you want to go. All right. Let’s get into what these new rules are. And this is, this is really kind of unnerving because we now are living in economically desperate times where governments are looking for, quote, legal ways to separate you from as much of your money for their purposes as possible. And that’s really what underlies this I-95 corridor soon to be coming to a neighborhood near you. This corridor handles 300,000 vehicles a day and they have used Flock.
And now you think, oh, we’ve talked about Flock. Yes, we have a highly invasive license plate reader. You know, someone’s driving your car and does a violation. You got to prove it wasn’t you. Good luck with that. Good luck with that. Now, they have a centralized notice center and depending on the location of the violation, that state’s jurisdiction kicks in. And what I mean by that is the fines will vary according to your location and the amount of points that they’ll put on your driver’s license, where in most states, if you get to 12 points, you’re suspended for a particular period of time and your insurance rates go to the roof.
It’s almost as bad as a DUI. As I said, 47 locations. Enforcement started last week. Let me give you the provisions. One is speeding. Now, generally, the rule of thumb was if you weren’t going 11 miles above the speed limit, most police officers who are tracking you on radar will not pull you over and write you a ticket most. Well, these flock arrangements with this new system changes all that. Let me give you the specifics. The 11 miles per hour has now gone to six miles per hour. And that’s open highway. If you are within 15 minutes of a metropolitan area, it’s now three miles per hour.
It’s pretty amazing, isn’t it? Now, first offense, $125. Most people are going to eat that, but here’s the problem. You start accumulating points on your driver’s license because let’s say you’re from Maine and you get caught in Virginia, Maine gets notified and they can decide to apply points or not to apply points. Second offense is $250. Third offense for all these jurisdictions is $400. People are going to compile this. You just got in the highway and look at the crazy people. You’re going five over and here comes a guy around you approaching a metropolitan area and they are going 30 over.
These kinds of people aren’t going to be driving really long, not legally. Okay, now minimum speed enforcement and this is where they’re going to really catch people because the flock doesn’t care about traffic flows. Flock doesn’t care about someone slows down up above because someone’s car begins to break down and now everyone speeds. They could technically ticket everybody in that group and hear what I’m saying. I can’t find any exceptions and guardrails to protect against inadvertence slowing down below 45 miles an hour. If you’re an enforcement zone, you’re going to get tagged.
That’s absolutely amazing, isn’t it? And the fine for this is a mere $50, but again it can compile up on your points for your driver’s license. Then there is the minimum following distance and it’s very vague. I had to go do some mathematic compilations to give you more of an idea of what this looks like. They said, first of all, you have to be two seconds behind the car in front of you. How do you figure two seconds behind? You literally have to crash into something to really know what that is, but the flock cameras have a system and they’re going to do the figuring for you even though it probably makes no sense to you.
Now, I broke this down at 65 miles an hour. The legal following distance for minimum is about 190 feet. That’s almost two-thirds the length of a football field. Think about this now. When was the last time you were on an interstate during regular hours? Okay, let’s say 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and you were able to observe 190 feet of following distance and aren’t there things that go on with traffic slowdowns and exit gets backed up and it piles back over into the right-hand lane? Where does the enforcement stop? You see, they have these rules, but it’s like the I before E except after C rule.
There’s always going to be mitigating circumstances and there’s no officer to talk to. It’s merely Flock’s computer issuing you a ticket through one of their 47 data centers. Wow, that’s not good. This to me is where they’re going to get most people and it’s not well, there are the bullies that if you’re driving five over and they get right on your backside because they want you to go faster. Okay, I think those people deserve to be ticketed, but how do you measure that? You don’t. This is going to be where I think the log jam of tickets are.
Now, when I was explaining this to a family member, my wife in particular, she said, good luck with that and I know you’re probably thinking the same thing. The problem is, is you’re getting summons from often several states away. Who are you going to argue with? Where do you go to protest? And are you going to backtrack three states to go to court for a $50 fine? But it’s on your license. It almost seems like they’re inventing ways to accumulate not just money, but points and they want to reduce the number of cars on the road.
That to me is a logical assumption here. Okay, now they have distracted driving rules. Anything that they detect above the dashboard, handheld. Let’s just say your phone goes off. It’s a call you’re expecting. You’re driving with your spouse and you know you shouldn’t be talking on the phone. So you take the phone out of your pocket, you hand it to your spouse, you just violated the law. And there is no cop to explain. I wasn’t going to answer. The phone officer has merely just handing it away, maintained vision on the road.
And a lot of cops will listen to something like that and go, okay, what about the holding devices that you have? Mine is above the dash. So if I want to put it in there, I’ve got a map I can refer to, right? I’ve got automatic answering. Someone calls me. Do you want to answer? Yes. Okay. That’s perfectly legal under the laws today, but on this corridor, it is not. Don’t go out and make changes because I got to tell you, I think there’s going to be some very difficult discussions going on now when the early tickets begin to appear.
Distracted driving is often, well, if you’re in New York, New Jersey, it’s a $400 fine. And remember what we’ve said frequently in America, two thirds of American families can’t afford a $400 car repair bill. Yeah, this gets really serious. The minimum fines you see in most of these states is $150. Right now it’s estimated that every day where phones are placed are even another object that’s not a phone. What if you hand them something that’s not a phone? It doesn’t matter. You’ve got a device in your hand above the dashboard. And random surveying says that applies to 12% of all vehicles at all times.
And then they’re going to do HOV enforcement. And that can vary from $150 to $500 depending on your state and the states that are going to really crack down and be the highest of Florida, Virginia, Rhode Island, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, South Carolina, North Carolina, HOV. In other words, you’re driving in a designated fast zone, but often they’re rush hour. Sometimes they’re eight to five. Sometimes they’re seven to nine a.m. and then three to six p.m. And if you don’t have a second person in the car, then you get the ticket.
Now here’s another thing. If you’re a driver and you can get a ticket without pulling over, you know the old scales you pull over, you get weighed. And if you’re over, you get fined for the use of the road. Well, now you don’t have to submit to any measurements. You’ve already been measured and you’ll get the ticket if you violate the weight requirements. So those are the things that are coming and you’re going, yeah, probably what my wife’s reaction was. Good luck with that. But I’m telling you right now, governments are desperate for money, and they’ve got an arbitrary system set up that doesn’t care about circumstances, valid excuses, invalid excuse.
They don’t care. You’re just going to get the ticket. Now they have to allow you to do process, but the fines are on the edge of where a lawyer is ridiculous. And the only way you do that is if you’re on the edge of losing your license because of these points that accumulate. This is a cash cow for state governments. Personally, I don’t like it. I want the roads to be safer, but I see too much maneuvering room here for abuse of behaviors that people have no control over. But they don’t care.
They don’t care. We are increasingly, in many ways, being separated from our rights. And they make this so onerous that really your due process rights are almost beyond your reach. And it’s often not economically feasible to pursue them. There’ll probably be an uprising with this. I imagine there’s going to be some modifications, but not until there are victims. Just thought you ought to know. I’m out at the commonsenseshow.tv and we’ll see you back here again next time. [tr:trw].
