Summary

➡ The San Francisco Deputies Association is discussing their role, which unlike the city’s Police and Fire Departments, isn’t clearly defined in the city charter or administrative code. This lack of clarity is seen as dangerous and outdated. The conversation also touches on the power of sheriffs, with an example of a sheriff in Chicago who refused to serve eviction notices, demonstrating the autonomy they can have. The text suggests that the role and responsibilities of sheriffs need to be better defined and understood.

Transcript

Well, Sheriff Mike, before we wrap this up, I said to you the story about San Francisco’s Deputies Association talking about the issue or the city, I guess, is asking them to define their, you know, their role. It says, while the San Francisco Police and Fire Departments are fully defined in both the city charter and administrative code, with operational duties, fundings and mechanisms, emergency roles clearly identified, the Sheriff’s Office is not. The submission is not only outdated, it’s dangerous. These are cities elected, law enforcement agencies, out of the very legal framework that governs how city departments are operated.

First of all, the Sheriff is a county official, right? So the city, unless it’s over the whole county, probably doesn’t have any really authorization or right to ask them for this. Anyway, what do you think of this? Isn’t this maybe stepping into a way to put sheriffs in another straitjacket, you know, so that. Get them out of the way of the real law enforcement. Right. So, but I was actually surprised that San Francisco has an elected sheriff. Yeah, that’s what I was saying. Is that the city’s sheriff? Because New York City does not.

And New York County, if it is such a thing, they do not. They just, boy, do they have a lot of police there. But it, yeah. So Chicago, Cook County is where Chicago is located and they do have a sheriff. And he was pretty stalwart. He was liberal and he was doing some crazy things. You know what the sheriff actually did? You can look this up in the newspaper. It’s still out there. About 10 years ago, he refused to serve papers to get people out of their homes. What is that called? Eviction notices.

Eviction. I almost said extradition. Eviction notices. And he told the banks, we’re not serving these anymore. Okay. People are, people are really struggling right now. And you want me to go put them out on the street. And he told the banks to hang it. And the banks started whining and say, Oh, the mean sheriff’s not evicting people that we need evicted because we want to sell these homes. And, and do you know what happened? Those banks couldn’t do anything because the sheriff said no. The sheriff said no. And you know, what were they going to do? Suey and he still could have said no.

So they were all whining and whining and whining that the sheriff wouldn’t do his job. Well, first of all, you might get a court order for an eviction, but somebody has to serve it. And he said no. So more power to him, even though he was a Democrat and quite liberal, he was doing something crazy right wing conspiracy stuff, you know, but I love to see it. And again, that’s up to him. Okay. They can’t force him, they can’t force him to do that. Even though it’s in his job assignment, collecting taxes in property taxes in a lot of the counties nationwide is the sheriff’s job.

And, you know, the board of supervisors or county commissioners comes, Oh, please go. You’ve got to go get these people out of their homes and take their property and blah, blah, blah. And I said, hold on a minute. I’m not going to just rush and go do that. I will look at it and see if these people owe a legitimate tax and, you know, we’ll take a look at it. Maybe we’ll, maybe we’ll get it from them. But the county attorney should be also looking at, you know, sending them a notice and not just the sheriff stopping by with the main deputies and taking their home away from them.

So folks, again, let me say add to this police discretion. It’s discretionary how the sheriff enforces the law or if he enforces it at all. Okay. Do we want sheriff’s enforcing the law? Absolutely. The supreme law of the land, the constitution of the United States. Yes. Go for, go enforce it, live it, know it, cherish it and know it with the, like the back of your hand. Then, then we’re going to get somewhere. Anyway, it’s an interesting world, lots of things going on. And without somebody in the office, the sheriff who actually understands his role and understands the issues, you know, like the sheriff that decided to, to stop them from evicting people.

Most of the bank contracts are fraudulent anyway. I mean, that’s something that’s been decided a long time ago. When you buy a home, you’re being robbed and the paperwork is such that they don’t even have a way to get you out. If you can’t, you have to be forced out of your home before they can take it away from you. So that, that individual sheriff understood that situation. Having a knowledgeable sheriff and someone who at the same time is familiar with the constitution was just such a wonderful thing. He wasn’t familiar with the constitution.

He was just, he just saw the problem with poverty-stricken people and putting them out on the streets. And, and he, he said, he told the banks, I’m not going to do that anymore. And like I said, folks, you can look that story up, do a Chicago sheriff. I don’t remember his name, but there were lots of different articles about it. I remember it very well. Yep. Refusing, refusing to evict people per orders from the banks. Yeah. So, no, but well, anyway, we thank all of you for being here today. Thank you. Thank you.

Thank you, Jack. Thank you, Stephanie. Thank you. And folks, this really is a chance for us to take a huge step towards saving America. Remember, the solution is behind us. It’s in our history. It’s an independence hall. It’s in our constitution and in it, and it’s in the heart of every American. We have got to wake up and get more involved in what’s going on. Working hand in hand with our sheriffs is absolutely the best, safest, and most effective way to take America back county by county, state by state. Beautiful. All right, sir. We’ll let you go.

We’ve had an interesting talk today. We look forward to next week. We remind the folks that your donations and support through the store make this possible. So please remind your friends and family and others to become Posse members. Sheriff Mack, we’re going to continue to work to grow the Posse and be on the front line with you. We can’t be there physically. We’ll be there morally and in your heart. We’re here. We’re behind you. All right. Thanks, sir. Talk to you next week. Bye now. See you soon. [tr:trw].
