This is the best holiday in the Christian tradition. It’s really the best day for humanity. Isn’t that interesting? You know, you can go to the remains and find them in all across the world, regardless of the religion, and find their leader, their prophet in their tomb, except for the one who had his cremation scattered as ashes in the Pacific Ocean. And those ashes lie at the bottom. Of the ocean.

But there’s one exception to that rule. And that’s Jesus viciously and horrifically executed on the cross on Good Friday. And we think now, from doing the timestamp and all this, it’s probably April 1st in the year that marks the entire calendar. The day that marks the entire calendar. Jesus. Two days later, tomb is rolled back. It’s opened up. And there’s no Jesus. Unlike these other religious leaders and prophets. Yet it’s interesting. Jesus appeared to 500 people in the Bible. The Bible talks about this. His resurrection is well witnessed. And the handicraft of his work, salvation, is omnipresent to everybody.

And we look at this, when we say this is the way, this is the best day. And the reason I say this is the best day, the best day ever. It’s because we’re born into sin. We can’t escape our sinful nature on our own. It’s just how we’re wired. And there’s not a commandment that we haven’t broken. And by the way, as I heard a pastor say recently, Ashley, there’s no list to get into heaven. You merely have to believe and confess Jesus is the Son of God and ask for repentance. And then try to do your best and keep coming back to the well and asking for forgiveness and repentance.

And you’re going to have eternal glory. To step aside from the Easter story just for a second. I’ve been looking at some interest with near-death experiences. And I grew up in an ear. In fact, it actually came up in my training as mental health therapist, that with regard to the brain, the brain can hallucinate as you’re dying. It’s dying from the inside out. And I heard all the explanations. And I’m still not satisfied with the neurological explanation. I think it’s highly suspect and unproven. But what’s interesting about the near-death experience stories is how universal they are.

And then people are sent back. It’s interesting that people who are agnostic or atheist or devout believers in Jesus, in many cases, have very similar experiences. I wished I had the resources and the ability, because I don’t know how many people would volunteer. But I like to study, and this is a true researcher statement right from somebody who taught this at university level, but I would like to be able to at least qualitatively study near-death experiences, because my anecdotal experience with across the board, read this, read that, you see something on YouTube or rumble about it.

And I just say, the stories are remarkably similar, remarkably similar. And people are always looking for proof. And in our faith, we say, you have to accept it through an act of faith. But I think there’s a lot there. And I think, too, that the divine order of creation, nature doesn’t work randomly and produce organized systems. Only intelligent beings do that. And the most supreme intelligence in the universe handed this marvelous planet to live on. But it is infected with evil. Evil that will take you down if you succumb to the temporary pleasures and temptations.

But there’s a way out. There’s one hope for humanity. And I do a lot of discussions, on our show about the geopolitics. We are moving dangerously close to war with China. Both sides are arming. We’re dangerously close to war with the cartel. I’m actually going to address that a little later today. It’s not going to be quite as simple as what people think. And of course, there’s the present threat of Ukraine expanding, especially with NATO moving troops into what was considered to be neutralism. And even into the Eastern area of Ukraine, how much is Putin going to put up with before he retaliates? And then, of course, there’s Iran.

There’s no shortage, is there? No. But since Satan was cast to the planet in the rebellion, he led unsuccessfully in heaven. And one-third of his angels were cast to this earth. And living here as a Christian, we are almost prisoner to the earth. We are prisoners of war when the only lifeline is the Lord Jesus Christ. That’s why this day is so special. We’ve been to Easter service. And it was like a lot of Easter service. But I thought, particularly in this day and age, with so many threats looming over humanity. I thought, this is the only way out.

Of all these multiple crises, we don’t want to slip into just abject suffering, perhaps even enter into tribulation. Now, I’m not predicting it, but I’m just saying, I could see where this could happen. But if we don’t want to go into that, there’s one way out. And that’s the collective faith of the believers. Do you know about the power of prayer, that there’s actually been 17 decent studies done on this? I researched this. This is something that’s not done at the university level. With the criticism I made of institutions like NYU and Harvard and the behavior of their administration towards intimidating and unruly behavior, you shouldn’t be surprised.

But 17 independent studies. And they studied the power of prayer. And I found one study in particular. And one really good study on its own typically doesn’t produce what you call the level of significance necessary to make a conclusion. And besides, research doesn’t prove anything. It actually establishes odds that something is true or accurate. This study doesn’t measure level of significance to the level and degree that we want, which is 0.05. Your research is due to chance, less than 5%, if we repeat it. You don’t get that. It’s somewhere about 0.12, I believe it was. So it gets rejected as a conclusive study.

But it’s a trend curve and it begs for later studies to see if there is confirmation in the level of significance. Okay, enough of the technicality. Let me tell you about the study. Significant illness with heart disease with a projected mortality of six months, on average. Another hospital, different part of the country, same prognosis, same condition. People who are praying, they’re given the first name with the last letter of the person and they’re not told what hospital. Little HIPAA involved here. And they’re instructed to pray a prayer of healing. That’s done on the first one. That would be called the experimental group in your classic design.

The other served as the control group. I know this is how you do it, but don’t you kind of shudder when people are denied something that may have helped them? Well, anyway, the people that were prayed for had much longer survivability rates, more than double. And this study has been repeated in another way, but it’s got some flaws in it. But it shows essentially the same thing. Now, do we have to depend on science to tell us that the elements of our faith are accurate and true? No. No, the Bible is supposed to provide you with everything you need.

And then you see the works. But the works around us and the limited research we have and the miracles that we’ve all experienced that were unexpected, undue, undeserved. Collectively speak to the fact that we know we’re dealing with the correct thing. But the ultimate is that 500 witnesses saw the risen Christ as he predicted. And he has told us how to be redeemed forever. There is no real death. There’s only the shedding of the body. And then we go to the higher or fortunately, for some, they get what they deserve. Hopefully not for us. We’re rewarded heaven or hell.

And by the way, the near death experiences also speak to the terrors of hell for the people who are pulled back. Nothing like a shock to the system to make one a little more reverent and faith believing. But the world rejects Christ. One political party in this country a lot more than the other, and we must pray for them, not condemn them. And really politicians in general, CEOs in general, have you ever read their mental illness rates? I’d like to see another quotient there, and that would be their redemption rates. Not very good, I would suspect.

But the Bible commands this, you know, hey, if you’re without sin, go ahead and cast that stone. So I’m not going to cast that stone any more than I’ve already said. But I would hope that you would join me in this prayer and say, dear Jesus, thank you for your sacrifice and your resurrection on this day. And we pray that you bring peace, love, and contentment to us. We know for that to happen in all earnest, you must return. And he can’t return soon enough in my book. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
