Hello, my name is Paul and I am the voiceover for a ministry provided to you by Jim Pugh at God is government called your daily bread taken from Christ’s teaching of the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew chapter 6, verse verse 11. This is a daily devotion ministry focused not only on uplifting scripture, but scripture that will grow your spiritual connection with Christ. We hope that you receive these devotions to uplift you, encourage you, but most importantly advance your knowledge base of the Holy Scriptures. Today’s focus discussion will be on God’s institution of marriage. Men, when you married your wife, you didn’t just marry her, you married her.

History. And women, the same goes with you. We married the woman with everything in her past that made her who she was and still is. When we asked her to marry us, do you remember? So everything women hid from their courting men and vice versa all takes on ownership of each other in the marriage. I remember the time I found out she did things I had no idea she did. When I asked her about the things she did, she said she just didn’t start doing it and that she always has done that. I was shocked. Then I remembered I got all of her, good and bad.

I laughed at myself for not understanding. Baggage comes even if unseen in some cases I I have seen it so blatant that women do things not ever shown to their date. Until he puts a ring on the finger, then all hell breaks loose. Men, you need to ask questions before you put a ring on something that had you known you would never have done. The same goes for men as well. Men, the second thing we are responsible for as Christ was for the church are to sanctify her. The word sanctification means to move her along and help her to become the woman that God wants her to be.

Now this one was hard for me to get my head around. How are we as individuals coming into a marriage with our own independence to move one along a changing process towards God’s purpose for life? Men, we are going to have bad days. Our lives are up one day and down the next. But we have to have a mindset that our marriage is sanctified. And as such, regardless of being up or down, the marriage is secure. It is our job as men to make sure that our wives know that the marriage is secure at all times.

There is no time when conversation should take on anything else but security. You need to tell your wives that you will not walk out on her, not leave her, not provide for her and not love her. You are responsible for everything and to do this places doubt which you are and will be ultimately responsible. She needs to know it doesn’t matter how upset or mad you may become. She needs to know she is stuck to you. We need to seek our wives well being even when we don’t feel it. Men after we have become her savior to die for her and her sanctifier, teacher and change agent, we are to be her satisfier.

God tells us men that we are to love our wives as we love our own body. Many of us think this just involves sex. That is far from the truth. Yes it does involve sex, but it is much more than that. What this means is that what we seek to satisfy ourselves, we should seek the same to satisfy her. Once married it is never a solo act again. We are there to satisfy two, not one. This means we need to include our wives in our decisions and actions. She must not be excluded. This does not mean we cannot have only men time.

This means that when we need men time we consider our wives in making that decision. So she knows our men time is to recharge for the two, not only the one. She needs to know that us men are not going off the deep end and doing something stupid to jeopardize the marriage. We need to make her part of the deal. Here is a revelation for the women. There is no declaration in Scripture for women to love their husbands. Wow. Men. What do you think about that? There is a reference in Titus 2, verses 3 and 4 KJV the aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things, that they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children.

This is a request, not a command. It is Ephesians 5:33 KJV. Nevertheless, let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself and the wife sees that she reveres her husband, that God commands the wife to revere their husband. This is the commandment to the women. Women, you want to feel things. You want to feel your husband loves you. You want to feel he provides security for you. You want to feel that he cares about your feelings. You want to feel respect from your husband. But as discussed in prior devotions, the man’s need is in his head, not his heart.

You might determine what this is by now, especially if you are married reading this Yep, it is ego with a big I in the middle. Men can be so egocentric that they will lie to themselves about themselves to get high on themselves. We see this by how stubborn men can be about anything. For me, you would see this in going to the doctor. I hate doctors. I can have a broke tooth and know it’s broken, but until it absolutely hurts to the point that I cannot deal with it any more, I do not like to go to the dentist.

Now I know it’s broken, but I am telling myself that it will be okay until it is not okay. In my remembrance of my past years of marriage, I find a common statement made between the two parties in the women it is a common statement you make about your husband. He doesn’t love me any more or as much as he did when we got married. And men, it is a common statement we make about your wife. She doesn’t respect me any more. Women to reverence are to be held in high esteem. The problem with most women is the one thing they do not want to stroke their husband is the very thing he needs stroked his ego.

Men need to feel that their wives feel good about him as a man, but more importantly, the man you want him to be. Think about that for a moment. The man you want him to be. God gives us an illustration to follow in stroking the husband in 1 Peter 3 KJV even as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him Lord, whose daughters ye are as long as ye do well and are not afraid with any amazement. Here is an exercise women can do in practicing. Tape a picture of your husband on your mirror, yes, with the face so it is visible and practice calling him Lord.

I would like to be a fly on the wall watching this. What God is telling us here is women need to verbalize your respect. It is not something your husband has to guess what you are thinking. Peter is telling us this because we must understand the story of Abraham and Sarah. As the story goes, God told Abraham that Abraham would be the creator of many nations through his descendants. This was a time in the life of Abraham and Sarah. They were up in years when God told them this. Abraham was close to a hundred years of age and Sarah was in her 90s.

Oh my. I couldn’t imagine God telling me that I was to have children at my age. Now, at 65 years, much less 100, Abraham and Sarah both knew that their body functions were not such as to have children and more likely even to have the intercourse required to conceive a child. But God told them that that was to happen. But what Sarah realizes is that God was promising a gift to them as part of the plan of God and she needed to set the stage for the. I can only Imagine the conversations that took place not only between Abraham and Sarah, but between them and God.

I can hear Sarah saying to God, I am 90 and he is 100. I cannot get pregnant. And even if I could at this age, it would be catastrophic on my body. And Abraham, being 100, cannot have enough super viagra to accomplish the task. But there is something profound that takes place when Sarah calls Abraham Lord, she gets pregnant by honoring him in accordance with God’s command. God blesses her with Isaac. The point here is that when she honored Abraham, they got a miracle. Women, you got no respect for your husband and ask God for a miracle.

God tells what has to happen. If a woman wants God to intervene in her marriage, she must revere her husband. If you do not follow the rules, God will not intervene. Yes, your husband has to love you, but women, you have to honor him. A marriage in God’s kingdom only has two men love your wives and women reverence, respect your husbands. The responsibility of the marriage in God’s kingdom is an institution with each member of marriage holding an office. The office of husband and wife are to be held in high regard because it is through the make up of the marriage that the home takes shape, the church takes shape, the community thrives, and our nation understands its institution is laid out the same as marriage with God at the head.

God is the executive and each of the houses represents one office of the marriage institution. The fourth ingredient of this covenant is sanctions. These are the negative and positive consequences to adhering to the rules. When we break the rules, we bring judgment to ourselves. When we obey the rules, God is free to work in our lives and provide us with blessings. This is why 1 Peter 3:7 likewise, ye husbands dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.

God is telling men that if they break the rules, then don’t pray because your prayers will not be heard. However, conversely, we are told in 1 Corinthians 7, verse 5 KJV defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency. When we come together in unity, one mind God is listening. Just as sexual intimacy brings a new life to God’s kingdom, so does spirituality provide. When the two come together as one under God’s rules and allows God then to be brought into the situations of marriage.

This is paramount if we want Satan to be removed and stay removed from our marriage. Because it is Satan’s goal to place a wedge in the marriage to prevent the marriage from having a relationship with God. In doing so, Satan then controls not only the marriage, but the home, the, the church, the community and our nation. Do either the men or women find it difficult to read the scriptures or pray as a couple together? Have you ever experienced this? Have you ever wondered why this happens? It is Satan’s job to not allow you to make joint contact with God because the marriage becomes a force to be dealt with.

Because the kingdom is on the side of the marriage. God tells us that where two or more are gathered in my name, there I am also. So when the family is living in accordance with his covenant of obedience, then when we pray, the Spirit of the Lord comes into the presence of whatever situation. It comes into our churches, our communities, our government and our world. The Lord comes into the presence of whatever situation. It comes into our churches, our communities, our government and our world. For those that have listened to me speak or read any educational materials that I have provided on the subject of change, I have stated that there cannot be any changes until we first change ourselves.

And when we have made the changes in our own life, so then can the change be made openly in whatever situation? Those of you in business, have you ever made changes in your business to what you think were for the better? To only find out that it didn’t turn out the way you wanted and you looked upon it and wished you had not spent all that money and time which is now wasted? Change happens from the bottom up, not the top down. Guidance is given from the top, but the overall change can only happen when those in the position to allow the changes accept the change.

And in their acceptance, they have changed their minds and actions to make the change successful. So it is Satan’s primary goal to keep the family in turmoil. See, when our families are outside of God’s chain of command, God will not listen to us and Satan wins in everything we do. Therefore, before you can even think about what you can do about changing your church, your community, your, your local, state and national governments, you need to look at your home. What did I say? Change starts at the bottom. If you don’t make the necessary changes first with yourself, then your home, then whatever you do outside of God’s obedience, covenant is not benefiting the kingdom and will not be blessed.

Think about that for a while. The fifth ingredient of this covenant is inheritance. Covenants are always designed to be transgenerational in other words, able to be passed down from one generation to another. If this were not part of it, then we would not be here today discussing anything. God’s covenant given to Adam at time of creation has been passed down through each generation, starting with Adam and ending here today with us. And it continues throughout time until Jesus returns. This means that the rules of engagement at the time of Adam are the same rules of engagement today.

The basis of this is the charge given to Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply replicate them over and over and over. We have a societal catastrophe. Currently. The the makeup of our current day families are more broken than those that are not. Therefore, when you go to the voting booth to vote for the person who resembles godly principles, you better hope that those outside of God’s obedience covenant have some other reason to vote for the same person. In our hope for change we can be outvoted because the church I’m talking about, the Body of Christ, has not focused on discipleship of the marriage and condoned homosexuality to openly exist.

And in fact, some churches are even embracing it. We have created a social catastrophe that is at the heart of every part of our lives and the condition in part of our nation. God’s ordained order and man’s covenant are completely broken. And if we fail to do something to first correct our own homes, our churches, and then move to correct society, we will end up with a situation described in Judges 2, verse 10. After that generation died, another generation grew up who did not acknowledge the Lord or remember the mighty things he had done for Israel.

We need to understand God is not going to skip the family or the church to go correct the White House. Judgment starts with the family first. However, there is hope. God has revealed Himself throughout history and made changes when he needed to make changes. Only when his people living underneath his covenant asked for change. A great way to see God’s perspective of the life we are living is that he starts at the end of it all and walks backwards into our present time. God didn’t make changes or corrections to his history. He promises to change our situations from supplications made in right standing with Him.

But he is perfect in his historic creation. So how do we begin to make that shift? We need a radical realignment and it starts with men. If God can get the couple to get back in alignment, God will give us back the lost conflicting years that were not right. The power of a kingdom marriage comes only when the marriage is aligned properly underneath God’s covenant. Meaning when we cast Our job descriptions of the marriage offices we hold biblically. When men don’t act like women and women don’t act like men and they do their roles as God defines, then we are properly aligned.

The time we live is in a post Christian era, a secular culture, meaning the values of Christianity are no longer the norms governing society. I remember growing up regardless of the societal culture. Everyone believed there was a God and viewed their values associated with the Golden Rule. Therefore, even non Christians respected Christian values. This is no longer true in our society. Today our children are going to school and they are being taught education without any ethics. They are taught that the rules do not apply and you need to make up your own rules in order to live the life you want.

They are taught entitlement is everything. It does not matter how protective as parents we are of our children. Technology gives them access to the same principles of society, allowing the culture to bleed its way into their very existence. This is our reality of life today. Daniel in Daniel chapter one was a youth taken by the Babylonian king as a result of the one battle over Israel. As a slave they were to eat what was given to them. The food created for them was from the animals that were sacrificed to the idols worshipped by the Babylonians. But Daniel refuses.

They make Daniel go to a sexual school to learn the ways of the Babylonians public education. The Babylonians are preparing Daniel for a sexual job in the government of Babylon and give him a sexual name. Daniel’s name ends in L. His father and mother had stamped God in his name. Therefore the time he was living at home before his incarceration, he was stamped by the name of God even after his capture and required living in a sexual culture. He could not escape that. He was still stamped by God. Parents, listen to this carefully and think about this a lot.

Satan wants to break up your marriage so that he can own your children. He is strongly coming after our children in ways we have not even thought about. Unless we stamp God’s name on our children so that they are running into God everywhere they go, reminding them who they belong to. Nehemiah 4, verse 14 KJV and I looked and rose up and said unto the nobles and to the rulers and to the rest of the people, be not ye afraid of them. Remember the Lord which is great and terrible and fight for your brethren, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your houses.

He is telling us that we have to fight for our families. We have a spiritual war going on in our culture today. We have to fight parents. We have to go to War men, we need to step up and say, for me and my house, we serve the Lord. There are no negotiations. There is no compromise. There is no one that can make me change. When both men and women adopt the covenant of God and understand that we are married, once under God, we must fight for the marriage. We must fight for our home. We must fight for our children.

And we must fight for our God given sovereignty to serve the one true God. We are going to read scripture together. We are going to pray together. We are going to be united to fight the powers of darkness that want to own our marriage and our children. The first miracle we learned about was Jesus turning the water into wine at a wedding. Jesus mother came to Jesus and told him there was no wine. They had run out of the wine. Jesus telling his mother that his time had not arrived to completely reveal himself to the world, said he would help anyway.

Jesus says, bring me the barrels of water. The problem was the barrels were empty. They were completely out of wine. In looking at our marriages, some of us find we are out of joy, hope, love, and just outright exhausted. Jesus tells them to bring him water. You may ask, how does it help their wine issue? But Jesus says, do you have water? And if so, bring it to me. As they brought Jesus the water, it turned into wine. And when they arrived at Jesus with what they thought was water, he had them pour a glass and it was wine.

How does this apply to our marriages? Many of us have been taught how God works. Without us personally understanding just how God works. We state many times that we are waiting on God. We have prayed and prayed and waited on God to answer those prayers. While this is true according to scriptures, it is only half the truth. What we fail to understand in most cases is God is waiting on us. God tells us that it is our faith, that we know God. And God wants to see us acting in faith, so he knows we know that it is in faith when God works.

This means we need to act like it even when it is not so, in order that it might be so, simply because it said it was so. Moses was standing between the Red Sea and Pharaoh’s army. The people were complaining and Moses was scared. God says to Moses, why are you standing here complaining? Moses is told by God to just hold out his rod. And when Moses held out his rod, God performed a miracle and divided the Red Sea with dry land for the Israelites to cross. The Israelites were at the Jordan River. God tells the priests to put their foot into the Jordan River.

Not until they put their foot into the water. Did the water dry up so they could cross? We need to realize that until we move, we will not see God at work. When Mary and Martha were at the tomb of Lazarus and Jesus said move the stone. Martha proceeded to tell Jesus that Lazarus had been dead four days and by this time he stinks of decay. Jesus didn’t care about the smell. He wanted the stone removed. What Martha told Jesus was absolutely true about the decay of the body. But that is not what Jesus asked. He asked to move the stone.

But what Martha was saying was wrong. Because what she said to Jesus had nothing to do with Jesus needing the stone removed. Martha, Jesus said if you believed you would see. Not that if you see then you would believe, but if you believe you would see. And by believing it meant moving the stone and not discussing with Jesus her position as to the smell of the body decay. What Jesus wanted is Martha to do what was asked instead of giving Jesus her opinion. Jesus doesn’t need for us to pull from our history what our programming is, but just do what he tells us to do.

The scriptures said then Jesus prayed. It was not until Martha acted that Jesus prayed. One of the greatest theological pieces of the triune family is the intercession of prayer. Jesus performs on behalf of the saints. We are told in Romans 8, verse 34 KJV who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. That Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father and intercedes with him in prayer on our behalf. This means according to scripture, Jesus full time Job at the present time is to intercede in prayer for all the saint’s circumstances.

Can you imagine what that might sound like? Jesus prays to his Father and tells him that Father, you do whatever I ask. So the question for each of us is not whether we are praying, but is Jesus praying on our behalf? I can hear Jesus telling God, you do all that I ask now to demonstrate your glory. They moved the stone and then we are told what Jesus words were. Jesus says to Lazarus to come forward. What is Lazarus problem? He is dead. He died four days ago and he is dead so long that Martha says he stinks.

Jesus told Martha, I am the resurrection. The interesting point about this story is that Martha and Mary called on Jesus long ago and told Jesus that the one he loved, Lazarus was sick and and dying. Jesus knew and delayed his trip just to create the situation to prove his glory. Jesus even tells Mary and Martha that he was glad he was not there. Earlier, Jesus was teaching Mary and Martha and threw the story to us that sometimes we are not ready to receive a miracle until we have removed the stones. Jesus prays and calls Lazarus from his grave and we see a dead man walking out of his grave alive.

So back to the story of the marriage ceremony that Jesus turned the water into wine. Jesus says bring me water. And as they were bringing the water to Jesus, it turns into wine. He didn’t turn the water into wine when it arrived to him, but as they were bringing it. We are told that the wine was not just any wine but the best wine available. The people said that it is normal to have the best wine first, but the best wine was saved for the last. I am not sure what any of your marriage issues were or whether it was good at the beginning or not.

Your marriages might have been small conflicts, but over time the small conflicts have morphed into an all out war. Jesus tells us that if by faith we will bring to him what we have, even if it is just a commitment, he will take what we have and turn it water into the best wine we could ever have. He will do this for each of us if we come to him on his terms, not ours. We can only fulfill our responsibilities in marriage in God’s kingdom by allowing him to be in the center of all situations. Thank you for joining us in this exploration of of God’s institution of marriage.

Until next time, remember to keep the faith, stay strong and continue to shine your light in the world. To hear these daily devotions of your daily bread, please log on to goddessgovernment.com goodbye and may your faith always lead the way.
