Trump Fast-Tracks Data Centers! (Is the Climate Narrative Shifting to Support Them?)

Hello, hi everyone. Michelle Melendez here on the Big Island of Hawaii with StandTogetherHavai.com and Blossom Inner Wellness and wow! You guys, the most amazing part of what’s happening right now is so much information is coming out. The truth is being revealed. They can’t keep it hidden. They’re changing narratives to align with their agenda and narratives like the climate change. You know, the whole climate change narrative has now changed. I’m going to show you guys. It has changed because they say that the UN climate experts have now changed from the worst case scenario in climate change being implausible.

Why are they doing this? Let me show you guys why. Because Trump, and if you guys are still thinking he’s going to save us, please watch this. I honor your opinion, but you’ve got to take a look at what he has been doing. And let me show you this special little juicy spice that he signed an executive order in 2025. Let me pull it up real quick. Accelerating federal permitting of data center infrastructure. July 23rd, 2025, almost a year ago. Nearly a year ago, the president, Donald Trump, signed this executive order. So what does this thing do? Let’s just read this part of it and then I’ll explain it in a nutshell.

We will pursue bold large-scale industrial plans to vault the United States further into the land and critical manufacturing process and technologies that are essential to national security, right? Because they all love keeping us safe. Economic prosperity. Economic for who? When your electric bill goes up three times? When you have to pay for more water? So who’s an economic prosperity there? These plans include artificial intelligence, data centers, and infrastructure that powers them, including high-voltage transmission lines and other equipment. It will be a priority of my administration on to facilitate the rapid and efficient build out of this infrastructure by easing federal regulatory burdens.

By easing regulatory burdens, regulatory burdens like the environmental review, regulatory burdens like public participation and what the heck is going on in people’s neighborhoods, the scrutiny of data centers, the impact on water and electricity, faster approval is what this bill is all about a year ago. Data center project means a facility that requires, this is so insane, that requires greater than a hundred megawatts, a hundred megawatts of new load dedicated to AI infrastructure. A hundred megawatts can power a small town of 20 to 40,000 homes and they’re going to dedicate it to AI and this is was an executive order by President Trump back a year ago.

Unbelievable. Then there’s this, for us in Hawaii who care about geothermal, it’s going to utilize natural gas turbines, coal power equipment, nuclear power equipment, geothermal power equipment and any other dispatchable baseload energy sources, including electrical infrastructures, constructed or otherwise used principally to serve a data center project. Wow, this guy really loves these data centers. Now this part is really fun. If you love your tax dollars, going to things that absolutely do not serve you at all and could actually harm you and your family in future generations, then you’ll love this part.

If the federal government spends less than 50% of the money, the invested money to put forth the data center. So if a data center is a billion dollars and the federal government gives 500 million of people’s tax dollars to the project, they don’t have to say that it’s a federal project. It can stay in the private and be pushed through with regulations and permitting really being pushed to the side. So that’s insane. Our President, Donald Trump, actually put this through. This is why I was looking at him. I used to be a Trump supporter and now I definitely see he is part of the problem.

So I’m just going to read my notes really quick instead of going through the whole executive order and I’ll put the executive order link in the description so you can read it for yourself. But less environmental review, less public participation, less scrutiny of data center impacts on water, electricity, faster approval. Qualifying data center projects can be fast 41 transparency. That’s less time to evaluate the impact. Communities have less time to organize. The order directs the Environmental Protection Act to help speed up permitting for qualified projects. So what is a qualified project? It doesn’t say what a qualified project is.

It wants to speed up development, changing and modifying regulations, changing and modifying the law to get these through. I mean it’s amazing. And then there’s this that they want to use and I’m laughing because it’s so insane. It’s so insane. They want to use what’s called Brownfield and Superfund. The Brownfield site is an abandoned industrial site like a commercial, like abandoned commercial area, abandoned military facility, abandoned agricultural land. The Superfund site means toxic sites. Toxics like former military contamination, mining, major industrial pollution and they want to speed this through. That means they’re more than likely not going to clean it up like they should and they’re going to be starting to utilize these for data centers.

They also want the Secretary of Defense to be involved because it’s all about national security, right? Military can lease land on bases to AI and the data centers. That is the executive order in a nutshell that Trump put through July 23rd of last year. So they had to change the climate change narrative. So let me show you this. This is from United Press International, the UN agency to remove worst case climate scenarios. So insane. Climate scientists have decided to remove their worst case scenario of how hot the earth could get if nothing is done to slow global warming.

And the decision they say is because of the reduced greenhouse gases, thanks to the worldwide efforts. That is hogwash in my opinion. Here we go. May 19th of this year, May 19th, 2026, the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. That is in the General Plan. Hawaii’s General Plan. Let me show you guys this. It’s page 56. This is our Hawaii General Plan 2045. So it says the United Nations and Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change has concluded in its most recent report that human activity has unequivocally caused global warming. And then the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change seems ready to drop its most extreme scenario because global efforts to slow climate change make the worst case scenario implausible.

Implausible. It’s not going to happen. And what have we been saying? Here’s this from my stand together Hawaii. I really want to show this one. MIT scientists explains his doubts about the dangers of global warming. This was 16 years ago, 16, 16 years ago. By asking people to worry about whether it’s going up or down, you’re immediately establishing dishonesty. Immediately establishing dishonesty. The earth is always changing. Climate change is nothing you have to prove. It always is happening. It always has happened. So to make that into something alarming seems to me a little bit weird.

Okay, this part is really important. Catastrophe certainly. He’s talking about catastrophes. That’s what he said. Catastrophes. Occur. They have many causes of which global warming is one of the least. Of which global warming is the least. And then Donald Trump says, posted on Truth Social Good Riddance after 15 years of Democrats promising that climate change is going to destroy the planet. The United Nations top climate committee just admits that its own predictions were wrong, wrong, wrong. Now this, the United Nations has withdrawn their worst case conclusion on climate. Now they have been thinking that temperatures would go up by eight degrees Fahrenheit by the end of this century and that the polar ice caps would melt completely.

Daniel Turner is with us this morning. I thought that UN declaration, they’ve abandoned that forecast. I thought that was a very big deal for climate science. It really was, but I think there needs to be a reckoning because this wasn’t just a mistake in climate calculations or in science. There are whole countries that destroyed their economies. The UK shut down the North sea oil and gas, right? We have entire nations that have crippled themselves and made themselves energy poor because of climate change. And not only that, generationally, how many young children have grown up with real climate anxiety that are convinced they’re going to die? They did, these scientists for political reasons did great, great damage to the world.

And it’s not enough for them to say, oops, we made a mistake. There needs to be a reckoning for us. What would be a reckoning? What would it be? They lose all of their funding. They are discredited. They have to offer formal statements. They should be forced to go around to schools and tell young people, you don’t have to be worried about climate change. Of course not, but it’s not enough to just say, Hey, we made a mistake. And they did this for political calculations and that’s what’s wrong. And why? Because the narrative needs to line up with what they want, which is the sustainability development goals are also going to go out the window because of how much the data centers are going to be using of electricity and water.

But you guys, we have power. We have power. That’s why we’re here. No fear. Take action. Take a look at what’s happening in your county councils. Take a look at your general plan. Big Island. Stay strong. We’ve got this. This is why we came. No fear. It says in the Bible, do not be afraid 365 times. Let’s remember that. Many people for the first time, they’ve never done spoken in front of the county council before, and they’re doing it for the first time now. And great spirit, I’m so grateful for that because I know that the hearts of the county council are moving toward what is Pono and what is right for the Aina and our Ohana and our keiki here for the future of the island.

And great spirit, this whole thing about data centers is, it’s wonderful that this information is coming out right now and the people are strong and we’ve got this. We give so much gratitude for all of the angels around the planet that are supporting people to do the right thing. And we send aloha to anybody right now who feels alone, who needs a spark of love, a spark that things can get better, and a spark that they are not alone and that they are taking care of.
