That’s the way our family was, and that’s what we did. I do want to say something, though. I got an email today from the church, and most of you might know this, that we’re also known as the Mormon Church, because a scripture that came out was called the Book of Mormon. We are not Mormons. Mormon was the name of a prophet from the Americas that the book is about, okay? But not just him, there’s lots of different. But I just want to make that clear, because our church doesn’t like it’s being called Mormons anymore, because that’s a nickname that really is not true.
Mormonism is not a religion. Mormon is the name of a prophet mentioned in the Book of Mormon. Okay, so I’m going to read this to you word for word. Dear brothers and sisters, the church’s U.S. southwest area operates amateur ham radio nets for emergency communications, and Elder Trevor Hanson has been called to serve as an emergency communication specialist for the Queen Creek, Gilbert, Chandler, excuse me, and Tempe coordinating councils. I live in Gilbert. All these towns are right around me, okay? So this is an area with probably about a million people, very prominently populated by members of the LDS Church.
And then he said, these amateur radio nets will enable you to reach your area 70. That’s a leader in our church. He’s called a 70. To reach your area 70, welfare and self-reliance manager, and others when traditional infrastructure may not be available during and after an emergency or disaster. Folks, how long have we been telling you to be prepared because something’s coming pretty soon? The church believes, it appears to me, that something’s coming pretty soon. And so, folks, there’s one other thing I wanted to tell you too. I don’t sell most of the stuff I tell you to go get, like medical supplies.
Now, if you wanted to get any kind of alternative medical supplies, I would get them from Global Healing, which is on our website. They’re one of our corporate sponsors, and my wife and I have been using their product probably for seven or eight years, and we get them about every two months. We order right around $500 every two months. Same thing with Body Align. That is a kind of an alternative medical product as well. But when I tell you to go buy food storage, yes, pneumatic foods does the best food that is a freeze-dried food.
It’s organic, it’s very healthy, and it lasts 25 years or more. That’s okay. We’ll make a little bit off of that. However, when I tell you to go get canned goods at Safeway or some other grocery store, we don’t make a dime on that. I just want you to be prepared, nor do we sell guns or ammunition, and I tell you to go get that. You should have that. If you don’t already, you better hurry. Another one too is to have storable water. We don’t sell water. We don’t even sell water purifiers. Maybe Numanah Foods does, ask them.
I don’t know if they do or not. But what I came to a conclusion of what we have done is, what do you do when you don’t want to waste good drinking water to bathe or to get clean? One is you should have wet wipes, and there’s lots of different kinds. Yes, what you do when you change a baby’s diaper, you use wet wipes, and these don’t have a very good storable or a life shelf. They’re not as good as the Numanah freeze-dried foods. I don’t think they would last over a year.
However, if you add a little moisture to them, after they’ve dried up in the plastic container they’re in, that still will do it. Well, I don’t want to waste water. You don’t need very much. I mean, even a swallow. If you just put a tablespoon in the package, the top ones will revive. I was going to say chemicals, and I’m sure there’s some cleaning chemicals in them, they’ll revive that way. But they’ll certainly come in handy, excuse the pun, no matter what you’re doing. Dude wipes, wet wipes, or any of those, yeah, you can take a nice little shower with those.
Yes, you do not want to waste water. Folks, the LDS Church has been first in a lot of this stuff. And if there’s a natural disaster just about anywhere in the world, do you know who’s the first to show up? The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the first to show up. They have the best welfare system anywhere in the world, better than most governments, including our own. And one time it was in Moore, Oklahoma about, what, 20 years ago there was a governor, and the governor thanked the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and also the Mormon Church.
They thought they were two different churches, and so they sent a letter to the church thanking them, and they made that little mistake because we are one and the same. But folks, say what you will about doctrine. I would love to have a doctrinal discussion with all of you about religion sometime, but right now, when we are battling for the survival of our country, I think we need to do that first. I really and honestly do. That’s my ultimate concern here. That’s why we wrote this amazing book. Folks, I’m going to tell you right now, I love this book.
It’s a part of who I am. Part of me is in this book. And it’s like giving birth to a child. And no, I’ve never done that. But I’ve been in with my wife every single time she had a child all five times. I went in with her. For Lucy and Mandy, we had an old family friend that was my doctor and my wife’s pediatrician. He said, hey, Officer Mack, you better get in here. And yeah, I was in uniform when Lucy went because I just started shift, and Don called and said, I’m having labor.
And I told my sergeant I had to go, and they took care of it. In fact, the corporal took my assignment that day. And I took Don to the doctor, to the hospital. And he said, you better get in here and learn how to do this. So I delivered Lucy in my uniform. Of course, I had the big schmock on to protect me from any mishaps. And I did it. And I delivered Lucy. And it was a very precious moment for me. I loved it. I loved every bit of it. And so when these emergencies start happening, our church is always prepared.
And our church has been warning us for over 100 years to have a year supply of food. And that could be for a lot of different things. But they have always said there’s going to be a time where you will, that will be the only food you and your family will have. Folks, the church isn’t wrong about this. They’re absolutely correct. Where would they come up with this? After Jack and I and many other sandwich men, same thing, that we warn you about this and that we tell you to be prepared.
Yeah. So I thought it was really unique that this came to my email just a couple of hours before this program was to start. So I wanted to share that with you. A word to the wise. And we’re supposed to have a family vacation in October. And I’m really wondering if we should go. I think it’s going to be right before that the collapse happens. But no one knows for sure when it is. Jack doesn’t know. I don’t know. But there’s a lot of writing on the wall and reading between the lines of that writing.
There’s no question. Something is coming. [tr:trw].
