Summary

➡ The water supply in Puerto Rico is unreliable, so after a workout, the speaker had to wash dishes and collect water using rainwater from the roof. They used buckets, including some from a local coffee shop, to gather the water, which could be used for a sponge bath or making tea. They also mentioned a bokeh filter, a common tool in the area, and suggested that this kind of situation is common.

Alright, so the water went out a couple hours ago. Utilities here in Puerto Rico can be very difficult. And it’s kind of a bummer because I just did a big workout earlier this morning and I need a shower. But I want to show you how I’m washing my dishes. There you go. So there’s water coming off the roof here. And I just got a pan where I’m putting the dishes in and I’ll scrub them a bit with that. It won’t be perfectly clean, but it’ll be enough to keep insects or roaches or whatever.

And I’ve got a couple of other buckets going here where I’m just getting gathering water. Ducks love it when it rains. Yeah, I’ve got a couple of more. We’re going to line that one up a little better. Extra buckets. Super handy. You’ll remember these white ones are the ones that I’m collecting from the local coffee shop. It’s not very clean, but it’ll be useful for something. I don’t know how long it’ll be gone off. It might not be that long. But, you know, some extra water just to do a sponge bath and boil some, make some tea.

Well, of course, I got my my bokeh filter. Bokeh filters are kind of a standard piece of equipment here for everybody. Okay, just thought I would share that with you, you know. Kind of stuff is going to be happening everywhere. [tr:trw].
