WA State Citizens Your Sheriff is Your Last Hope

He says he stands in opposition to the bill after years of working closely with law enforcement. I’ve seen firsthand that sheriffs are elected by the voters and should be accountable only to the voters. This bill is a dangerous shift in power to unelected state boards that will undermine our constitutional republic and our form of government. That’s clearly the case. I mean, it obviously shifts the power from the individuals that are being voted for to the state itself or to an unelected bureau that remains even long after the elected officials in the state are gone. And so it becomes another bureaucracy, just another group of stormtroopers or whatever that work for the state.

And I don’t know, Sheriff Mack, what are the odds that the House passes it? I think it’s pretty good because they’re all a bunch of crazies and there’s not enough Republicans in there to stop it. And it’s amazing what the Democrat Party has been able to achieve in Washington state. I think the sheriffs are hanging on by a thread in Washington state. The people have got to raise up in righteous indignation and try to put a stop to this. But will the Democrats join with or maybe the independents? Will the independents join with the Republicans in fighting to keep their sheriffs? I don’t know.

And I don’t see any other way around it. And a lot of the sheriffs that are being attacked so much in the state of Washington are trying to do whatever they can to hang onto their jobs. So this one’s pretty bad. And after Washington state does it, you think California is going to look at their neighbor to the north and go, oh, why did we think of this? Quite a few states will do that. Maryland will be very quickly on the list as they are having problems with their sheriffs not wanting to go along with the governor’s socialist and communist ideas.

The other thing here that I didn’t know this, but McKeown said that they had already tried an experiment with Pierce County without an appointed sheriff. And the citizens said it was terrible. It was a period of corruption. And that they voted to return the election model for the position of sheriff in 2008. And he said the primary reason for the return to the elected sheriff was to ensure direct accountability within the agency. So there’s one county that’s experienced it. I mean, that’s absolutely the way all the counties will be. I mean, this is an example over and over and over in our history.

When you take away the ability to monitor and control this through some sort of means outside of a political body, then you just end up with endless corruption. I was looking for my book just then. Folks, you might want to pick up a copy of this, too, one of the best books in the country written by yours truly. But this book has been out there a while. This was published in 2009. And if you can’t read that, it’s kind of glaring and whatnot. But my biggest selling book of the seven or eight that I’ve written, this has done about 100,000 copies over the past 15 years, 16 years now, 17 years now.

Yeah, we’re in 26, aren’t we? Yeah, this came out in 2009. Well, I can’t believe that, man. But, folks, the scary thing of it is, is this title is true. The county sheriff, America’s last hope, and what’s happening? Washington state is removing the last hope from the state. They’re getting rid of that last hope because the Democrats know that this is true. The sheriffs have proven this to be true over and over and over. That when they stand, nobody can stop them. Folks, every single time a sheriff has stood up and directed a certain path for protesting or standing against tyranny, the sheriff wins.

And so, including what the seven of us did back in 1994 and ultimately winning at the United States Supreme Court. But you don’t have to wait for a court to decide any of this. The sheriff does not need to ask permission from a judge to keep his oath and to do what he’s supposed to do and do his job. He doesn’t have to ask permission from anybody. The only endorsement he needs of that are the people that appointed him. And so, that’s why this is a republic instead of a democracy and especially a constitutional republic because within that republican form of government, we have a rule book that sets the parameters and rules for that specific republic, and that’s called United States Constitution.

So, it has a double whammy and double effect. A double security arises to the rights of the people. We are a republic, and within the parameters and limitations of the United States Constitution, there’s a rule book for it. There’s a rule book for our republic, the U.S. Constitution, yeah.
