I am going to probably laugh my way through this. They say sports is a microcosmic society. I totally agree with that assessment. And I felt that way for a long time. I really do. Back in the Jim Crow days and towards the end of Jim Crow back in the 50s, the Boston Celtics had an experience. I’m going to tell you about that here. But we’re really going to talk about the W Woke NBA. And why without ESG scores pushing the NBA to do the right thing, in quotes, the Woke NBA would be out of business a long time ago if they weren’t subsidized by welfare.
And now that they have the chance to become solvent, they’re pooping in their own nest. We’re going to talk about these factors again. I’ve mentioned some of the new facts have come to life. And the reality is this is that this league, and you can throw in the women’s soccer team too, women’s Olympic soccer team. These people are delusional. They’re stupid. I wonder who balances their budget at the end of the month for them personally, because they’re clueless. My name is Dave Hodges. I’m the host of the Common Sense Show. Woke NBA. And the NBA subsidizes them to the tune of $50 million a year. The league is so broke that unless you’re a superstar, and you could be drafted number one, but they can’t afford you. They’ll cut you. And these women are going overseas to play, which is what I think Caitlin Clark should be doing. I want to talk to you about how they poop in their own nest. Caitlin Clark has the dishonor of being white, straight, and Catholic. She’s got the trifecta of handicap against her. We’ve talked in here about fouls against her flagrant fouls unsportsmanlike that in any other league, including the NBA, you’d have multiple game suspensions for what has been done to Caitlin Clark.
Instead, sometimes the league doesn’t even call foul. The referees are in on it. And then the league doesn’t punish. She multiple game suspension when you go in for a layup, and you’re grabbed around the throat and slammed to the ground. That probably gets you three or four games in the NBA. Lost a salary for that time. It’s amazing. It’s amazing. Caitlin Clark shows a refs to a palm. It’s a technical foul. I’ve seen it. I’ve seen it. And you all in the woke NBA ought to be ashamed of yourselves. But here’s a real travesty as well.
Caitlin didn’t make the Olympic team. Wait a minute. She’s having a record setting rookie year. No rookie has ever done the thing she’s done, including the recent triple double that she just got. That means double digits and rebounds, assists, and points. And she beat Angel Reese’s team, who is the picture of, I think, mental instability, attention seeking, narcissistic. That’s what I’ve seen of her. I’d like to honor for the great rebounder she is. But her stats, except for rebounds, are less than Caitlin Clark’s in every bit. But she’s going to get rookie of the year. Angel Reese.
Well, not Caitlin. Even though Caitlin’s numbers are far superior. And Caitlin Clark went in with a lesser team and beat Angel Reese’s team because of Caitlin’s triple double. So Caitlin’s left off the Olympics. And I look at Diana Tarasi made the Olympic team as a rookie. And she didn’t have half the season Caitlin Clark is having. She’s on the team now at the decrepit age of 42. And it’s decrepit for a professional basketball player. And her numbers are way less than Caitlin Clark. The influence and changes of the team for the Indiana fever Caitlin’s team versus Diana Tarasi’s Phoenix Mercury.
The impact that Caitlin’s had on our team far greater than Diana Tarasi. But Tarasi’s on the Olympic team. And Caitlin is not. Why is that? I like Caitlin Clark. I’ve seen a few games. Sorry, I haven’t seen five players that are better than her. She should not only be on the Olympics. She should be a starter, but she’s got those three handicaps. And until she can change, she’s not going to get any awards, including Rookie of the Year. I’ll be shocked. The only reason she’s going to make the All-Star game is because the fans are voting.
Not the woke establishment of the WNBA or the biased prejudice Olympic selection committee. I mean, it’s this bad people. It’d be like taking Michael Jordan in his prime and saying he’s not good enough to be on the Olympics. That’s how good she’s going to be. And Jordan was there as a rookie. Continuing. Clay Travis. He’s making me laugh. Clay Travis did this. He said, I’ll put up a million dollars to the Las Vegas Aces last year’s champions of the Woke NBA. If you can be a boys high school team that state champion and the team is of my choosing.
Cooper flag. He’ll be dunking on you all. That’s for sure. But anyway, he says, I’ll put up a million of my dollars. And this is after. A player on the Las Vegas Aces. Called. Caitlin Clark and Clay Travis dumbasses. He said, OK, OK. Million dollars. I’ll get the venue million dollars. The Woke NBA, the Aces. The star player. Two chicken bleepers even respond because they’re right. And see, this is the entitlement that a lot of professional female athletes have. You look at the women’s soccer team. Mr. Rapinoe. Well, we face discrimination and we’re not paid as much as the men.
Well, they played a boys team 15 and under closed doors and they lost five to two. Yet they think they should make the same amount of money as the men’s soccer team who would destroy them 20 to nothing. This is reality. There is beauty in competition with women. And we don’t see a whole lot of this nonsense in the NCAA. And sometimes these women’s games are I’m amazed how better the skills have got. And they’re fun to watch, particularly when Caitlin Clark was playing. But to say that you deserve everything that you would not even be in a league right now.
WNBAers Woke NBAers. If it wasn’t for the NBA men giving you 50 million dollars of their profit. You’re a joke as a league. You’re self destructing. You could, you know, I’ll give you the arena football. Very popular. It’s eight man football. Occasionally one of these guys will make it to the NFL, but not very often. But they draw fans. They make money. Because the league handles itself the right way. They don’t embroil themselves in woke sternness. And that’s why Rapinoe, you and Angel Reese. And you people in the WNBA, the Woke NBA. You’re destroying your own sports.
People enjoy watching that. Listen, you know, I grew up with martial arts background. I like watching MMA. And part of me likes watching the women as much or more than the men because their technique. But you put a woman in there with a man equivalent stature for both the men’s and women’s MMA. No, I wouldn’t want to see it because I don’t want serious damage or death to come to the woman. And those women are tough. You don’t hear them cry and woke tourism crap pay us as much as that man in the title fight. You don’t hear that crap because these women are warriors in the MMA.
What we got in the Woke NBA is a collection of whiners. They want something for nothing. The Democratic ideal were entitled. Same as the Olympic women’s soccer team. Who I used to be proud of until their politics wrecked them. Until they listened to people like Rapin, though, they should have said, shut up. We got a good thing going. Shut up. You know what? Less people are watching them now. They’re sick of it. Final comment. Caitlin Clark plays in an arena against any team. The average attendance, 17,000. Recently, Las Vegas Aces had to move their game against Caitlin’s team from a 12,000 seat arena to an 18,500 seat arena.
She was playing 17,000 on average for Caitlin. The rest of the league, when they play without Caitlin in the game, 7,000. Maybe you all should shut up and stop holding your demographics against her. Maybe you should start recognizing her for the generational talent that she’ll be. She’ll be the Michael Jordan of this league unless she says, I’m not putting up with this anymore. I’m going to go to Europe where they’ll honor me and I’ll make a lot of money and a lot of sponsors will follow me. And the WNBA will continue to deteriorate. And if it weren’t for woke politics and ESG, the NBA ditched them.
