If you’re not going to uphold and defend the Constitution, we’re going to. And just because you won’t adhere to the Constitution doesn’t mean that we have any responsibility to go along with you. In fact, far from it, we’re supposed to erect the barriers against your encroachments. We’re supposed to make sure that the other two branches of government stay in their proper lane. And that we all work together, but I don’t work for you. And he made that clear. I don’t work for the governor. I don’t work for any of these other bureaucrats. I work for an answer to the people of my county.
And he even said at the beginning, that’s the beauty of the Office of Sheriff. And folks, that’s not just the beauty of it. That’s the power of it, because he answers to the power source. And that’s why forever, my dear friends, we have been training you and telling you to have a relationship with your sheriff. He works for you. And folks, we’re getting a few calls already. How do I get my sheriff to that meeting? Well, it would be 550 for you to sponsor him just to go to that meeting. And so we hope we get 1,000 there.
And that would be the cheap part of it, because if we get more donations than that, we’re also going to make sure that each sheriff leave with a per diem, an honorarium, a stipend for their time. Because we don’t want any of this to cost them money out of their pocket. We don’t want any of this to cost them anything out of their departmental budget. So the sheriff’s office travel budget. So folks, we have a lot going on. Tomorrow we’re meeting with people in Sumter County, Sumter County. And then we have another meeting on Friday. And then I’m hustling home to get back to a funeral of a friend of mine from way back when.
