Take advantage of the solar panel glut – it wont last long

Let me back up for a second. I was talking to my son, and he was going, I said, I’m thinking, I only need four or five panels. I’m thinking about having a lot more, like 20 of them or something like that. And he goes, Mom, that’s kind of crazy. You know, the price of solar’s been dropping, dropping, dropping, dropping. And I said, Yeah, but things, you know, they’re not going to zero, right? And the other thing is, so this is one solar panel, this is a 410 watt panel. These are brand new, and there’s about a six tenths of an ounce of silver in this solar panel.

And when these were manufactured, which was, you know, probably a year or two, maybe three years ago, the amount of silver in here was like less than five percent of the overall cost to manufacture. With silver at $100 an ounce, right now they just tanked it. But I promise, it’s going to be $100 an ounce, it’ll be $200 an ounce, it’ll be $500, it’ll be $1,000 an ounce. And that is going to come, and probably much faster than you think. But right now, there’s already about $60 worth of silver in this panel. And I got a deal on these.

These were $130 a piece, and you know, price would seem so incredibly low. This is sort of Puerto Rican style. They’re not in the, like they were traveling apparently on an open air train thing before they went overseas and got here, so things are, you know, they’re brand new, but they’re, you know, they’re not as clean as they could be. They’ve been exposed to the elements a little bit. I’m good. I mean, they’re solar panel. We’re going to be exposed to the elements a lot. So it’s a company called Visan, which is Japanese company. I looked at all the specs, and it’s, you know, they’re not the greatest panels in the world, but they’re not the worst.

And I would also like to talk about efficiency for a minute. People are like, oh my God, you know, I got these 23 percent efficient. I think these are only rated at like 21 percent efficient. I don’t really, efficiency only means that you’re going to use up less roof space. What I’m looking for is how much power does it create, right? These are 410 watt when, when they got full, full power going. So I see these as an investment. I think, and right now we’re in a solar panel glut, right? There’s a huge glut. The market has just been flooded with solar panels from, I guess, from China and apparently Japan.

So we do have this huge opportunity basically where solar panels are really, really, really inexpensive. I don’t know how, how big that glut is or how long it’s going to take to go through it, but to buy 20 panels right now, which is going to be plenty of power for me for at least, you know, the next two decades, along with the batteries and the inverter and the other stuff you need. But I believe these guys are going to skyrocket in price at some point in time. I’m not thinking we need to rush out and do it today, but this is one of those opportunities I was talking about.

I mean, if you can find a deal on a, on a, on a bunch of solar panels and even just put them in storage, you know, by the way, recycling the silver out of this apparently is really, really difficult. So don’t think about that. And this is power, right? Power is a good thing, no matter what, right? You can’t go wrong investing in power. So anyway, this is one of those opportunities. Like we’re in this period of complete insanity and complete craziness. We’re going to see lots more of this prices spiking up and going down and going sideways.

And we’re seeing, you know, governmental policy changes every day. One minute it’s this and one minute it’s that. That’s the kind of crazy insanity world we’re living in. And when you find something that’s a good opportunity, like picking up 20 solar panels for $130 each, jump on it, right? So you need power. We know we’re in collapse. We know it’s going to get much, much, much, much worse. You know, prepare. Pretty simple. Okay. Again, if you can see clearly and you see the trends, have a bit of courage and you’re going to be just fine making the right moves.
