Now, just moving to a state doesn’t mean you’re going to die earlier, but there is a correlation. And it is a factor where you live. And we found honestly, the highest eight states for lifespan are all democratic states.

Now, sometimes in research, we’ll see a relationship, a correlation. We call it superfluous. It matches up numerically. There seems to be a relationship, but common sense tell you there’s no relationship. I’m not so sure about that. Why do liberals live longer? Well, let’s see if the inverse is true with regard to death rates by state. Let’s start out with the state that has the 10th lowest lifespan. And that would be South Carolina. Number nine, New Mexico. Oh, I believe that people in New Mexico are nice. They’re friendly. They’re helpful. Some of those restaurants, I try not to eat when I drive through New Mexico, when I go to Colorado and visit friends and families driving from Arizona.

No offense. Love New Mexico. Beautiful state. Just don’t eat there. They come in at number nine. Number eight. This is really surprising to me. I am shocked at this. Oklahoma. By the way, congratulations to the Oklahoma City Thunder when the NBA championship. But you guys don’t live a real long time there. You come in with the eighth lowest lifespan in America by state. I’m kind of surprised. People in Oklahoma are generally pretty active. Number seven, Arkansas. Number six, Tennessee. That kind of caught me off guard too. Bob Griswold, the late Bob Griswold, a good friend of mine, lived in Tennessee, extremely active.

His kids really active. He tells me, he says, very active state, very athletic. Doesn’t show up in lifespan. Number five, the bluegrass ain’t good for you. Even when you don’t smoke it. No, Kentucky comes in at number five, the fifth lowest lifespan. That kind of surprises me too. Play a lot of basketball in Kentucky, good for cardiovascular, but you do stop playing in your thirties generally. Anyway, they don’t live real long. Number four, Louisiana. Are you surprised? And I should actually say that’s number three, Louisiana. Cajun food’s not good for you. Bourbon Street, the LSU Tigers, the New Orleans Saints, they got really good sports.

But I guess they’re eating a lot of fried food. I suspect when I do my research, I’ll follow up on that with you in a minute. I suspect their diet has a lot to do with this. Okay. The state with the next to lowest lifespan, West Virginia. I’m not really sure why income might play a role. You could have the Hatfields and McCoy still killing each other. I don’t know all the reasons why, but they come in at the second lowest lifespan. What do you think is number one? Pause it and write it in the comments.

Number one, lowest lifespan in America, Mississippi. Hmm. That’s interesting. Mississippi and Alabama and Louisiana, see some horrific hurricanes. I don’t think it has a dramatic impact on lifespan, but that’s one thing that came to mind. But let’s take a look at this. South Carolina, kind of a purple state, but mostly red. New Mexico, totally blue and democratic as we’re comparing to what we found in the longest lifespan states. Oklahoma is a red state. Arkansas is a red state. Tennessee, kind of purple, but mostly red. Kentucky, mostly red. Alabama, fully red. Louisiana mixed, but mostly red.

West Virginia, mostly red. Mississippi, mostly red. Oh my gosh, we have a trend. If you heard the last segment, the people with the eighth longest lifespans by state, they’re all democratic liberal states. And here almost exclusively the bottom 10 are conservative. I’m going to research this and see if I can’t find some correlative factors to lifespan that apply to these individual states. And I’ll just take the top two and the bottom two to simplify the research. But tell me in the comment section, what you think are the causes for this? It just can’t be political affiliation, can it? Some people would say, well, liberals don’t live by any rules.
