The real story is what’s going to follow his capture. There’ll be the short term, and then there’ll be the overall objective of the Trump administration that I’ve been telling you about. And his plan is falling into place. And by the way, I’ll have a prediction on another area before we leave. I’m Dave Hodges. This is The Common Sense Show. Well, the U.S. initiated airstrikes. And there were supposedly close support helicopters too, which makes sense. The details of the capture of Maduro have not yet been released. They will be because it gives the president a chance to stand behind the podium and brag about how efficient his military and special operations are, which they are amazingly. So they captured Maduro and his wife. Their disposition at the moment other than they’re in U.S. custody is not known. But I can tell you about the operation. Airstrikes create a perimeter where military or paramilitary forces could not penetrate. And now it’s just left to the initial guard.

Can they withstand what’s coming? And spec ops were obviously delivered. We don’t have any report on casualties, if any. And they were able to capture Maduro. No doubt they were tracking him with thermal imaging. And did the bodyguards put up a fight and were neutralized? We don’t know that yet. But this is absolutely a stunning and amazing development and came much quicker than I thought. And it was very surgical because originally the way things were sounding, we’re going to take out this drug lab here, this drug distribution center, this anti-aircraft position that could threaten our F-35s or helicopters flying in.

I thought that’s the way it would go. And it would be kind of a war by attrition in the air. Instead they went right for the jugular. First move, successful, got him out. Where were they in the hostage Iranian situation in the Jimmy Carter era? You know, we didn’t have this kind of military then. People just want to bash Pete Hegseth. This is an amazing operation. It’s stunning in its effectiveness. Now, let’s get down to the meaning of all this. Because the short term, it’ll be another Noriega el Chapo style trial and be very tightly controlled.

And he’ll probably be at some supermax prison under 24 hour seven surveillance. Pretty interesting. Now, who’s going to take over? In the vacancy of leadership, it’s not going to be Maduro number two. And I don’t know that a Maduro number two would want to step up in light of what just happened. Because I think they realize now there’s nowhere you can run or hide that our military can’t get you. And again, congratulations to Pete Hegseth on organizing a great operation. You know what I mean by great? I’m just stunned how they just go in and pluck this criminal leader out of office.

Now, will the defrauded regime in exile that the people will tell you really won the last election, will they be installed as the leadership? I would expect that. Now, this is all short term stuff. It’s going to work itself out in the very near future. Here is the bigger geopolitical global implications. You got perhaps the world’s largest oil supply, also with rare earth minerals. China right now is on some Venezuelan islands, taking about 12% of Venezuelan oil. There’s going to be an interesting negotiation. Should I get into one of my New Year’s predictions? And I don’t like this prediction, by the way.

I do not like it. I’m not in favor of it. But I think we’re going to see a trading of Taiwan for Venezuela. Oil or chips? Or will China make the chip exception? And what kind of umbrella of control will China be allowed to have over Taiwan? I don’t think it’ll be authoritarian, and I don’t even think it’ll be as much as Hong Kong. But it’ll be a reclaiming of Taiwan under the Chinese umbrella, as in more or less an independent province. That’s how I would predict this is going to go.

In exchange, China abandons Venezuela, doesn’t put up a fight. We negotiate with the new government for very favorable oil deals. Now, China knows damn good and well, they may control the silver and their military will profit, and the US military will be struggling to find silver. But if you don’t have the oil, China knows, well, we can’t project our military. And then that sets the stage for further negotiations with trade. And I think this is a very, very likely scenario. I really do. And I think we’re going to see a trade here for some kind of compromise on Taiwan.

I don’t see the Chinese tanks rolling down the streets of Taipei. I don’t see it going that way. But I do see a capitulation. I truly do. In exchange, I think we’re going to see a North Korean nuclear stand down. I think that’s very, very likely. And I think China will facilitate that. This could actually end up being very positive. And I remember this president is the art of the deal. And he now holds the Trump card pun intended. And we’re about ready to get massive amounts of Venezuelan oil. But it’s not going to stop there.

Iran’s going to enter the picture. But I’m going to bring it in under the context of NATO versus Russia. And then we’ll talk about what’s going to happen with Iran. Things have gotten very, very heated. And so in the next segment, I’m going to come back and I’m going to talk about what’s likely to happen in Iran. What role will Putin and Russia play? And how does this affect NATO and Europe? I mean, it’s all tied together and it’s part of the overall, and I told you, this is part of the overall Trump strategy.

I told you this over the weekend, last weekend and on into this week. I said the plan is to get the Venezuelan and Iranian oil. We’ll talk about part two in Iran in the next segment.
