Nobody in my humble opinion, my opinion, Dave Hodges in the common sense show, nobody should travel to Mexico.

And I mean nobody. I don’t think our diplomats are safe. I don’t think corporate executives that work there are safe because Donald Trump has been so effective in shutting down the border. Limiting to some degree, the fentanyl. Stopping the illegal border crossings to an unbelievable level. That the cartel have been forced to seek new means of revenue. And you’re thinking, okay, what would that be? Well, they have a new tactic. It’s called kidnapping. And so what they’re doing is they’re grabbing Americans. In border towns, there were four that were taken in war res recently. Two were killed.

And two were tortured. And the visible signs of torture were shown. And the pictures sent to their families to extort money for their release. And there’s no guarantee that if the families come up with money that these people who are kidnapped will ever be released. And this is a growing problem. They did get the people back in the war as the survivors in the war as case and the FBI did assist Mexican authorities. So we say they pressured them. But I believe this is now the new trend. And here’s my greatest fear. Who’s to say that these criminal elements with cartel embedded in our country on this side of the border will not begin to initiate the same thing.

We know oftentimes, and the media has covered this well, so is the FBI, that kids can be snatched off the street. And this has led to parents today being really cautious, unlike the old days, when I used to come home from school, get my homework done, go out and play. I could be anywhere. We didn’t even lock our house. I lived in a suburb of Denver. And we didn’t even lock our house. Things have changed, haven’t they? Well, I’m afraid that cartel tactics will change on this side of the border too, particularly if there is any kind of military intervention.

And we send in Delta, for example, to take care of cartel leadership, which I think is a fool’s errand because with the cartel that have been taken down legally, it hasn’t stopped them. We’ve got cartel leaders in American prisons today, and the cartel are more violent and bigger membership numbers that are equipped than we’ve ever seen. Nothing is slowing them down. And I fear that this new strategy is going to be greatly employed. And this is going to further increase tensions between Mexico and America. Now, here’s what’s sad. Now, I’m going to say this right now off the top.

My broadcast partner, Doug Thornton, on the Doug and Dave Intel report, he’s former DHS. He’s been at the border many times. And he says, Dave, we’re not going to get rid of the cartel. Can we extremely limit the cartel? I don’t see it. That’s his answer. And listen, he’s got the experience on the border. He’s interacted with the power as it be. I have to take him at his word. But if Mexico were smart with the incredible resources they have, they don’t want to hitch their wagon to China. China is a failed state. We’re actually going to cover that in the next segment.

China will not do anything to enhance Mexican development of their natural resources. Mexico has the ability to be the number one nation in Central and South America. They truly do. They could be in the top five in resources, thus economy. And there is enough infrastructure development in Mexico. It’s not their own complete into the country. But there is enough organization business-wise, business acumen, that the Mexicans could be a tremendous power in the world. And they could be a great partner with the United States. The United States has the added tools they need to bring their great resources to market.

We would benefit. They would benefit. But the cartels have to be eradicated. And I go back to Doug’s warning. It’s scary that he says that we can’t get rid of it or the Mexicans can’t. And we know that Mexico is infiltrated at many levels by the cartel. We’re seeing it here. We reported yesterday about a new Mexican judge who had cartel members living in a casita in his backyard. And his wife, not his wife, excuse me, his daughter had some of their guns and they were seized. This was part of the Fox News report. This is what we know.

I mean, you got to wonder how far it goes that we don’t know. And I don’t want us to reach this point of no return and back to the kidnapping and extortion. This is downright scary. This is downright scary. And I don’t want to see a devastating invasion of Mexico by United States and it would be costly, costly in terms of money, equipment, costly in terms of casualties. The Sierra Madres would be like the Afghanistan mountains. We would have fifth column forces in this country wreaking havoc like we’ve never seen before. I don’t want to see that at all.

What’s the answer? I’m going to put that out here to you, the audience. There’s so much potential for a Mexican-American joint ventures economically much bigger than we have today to grow Mexico as a nation to benefit from that growth on our end. They benefit their people on their end. That should be the goal. But how do we get there? And if we don’t get there, I can almost guarantee you at some point with the growing powers of the cartel and that they truly begin to abduct Americans. In fact, they’re not just abducting Americans. They’re abducting foreigners.

But if this grows to any kind of level and proportion, what would any president be forced to do? I’m not just talking Donald Trump. I’m talking Mr. President, future oriented, regardless of party. What would have to happen? I think you know the answer to that question. And if we engage militarily in Mexico, then we are weak against Iran. We are weaker against China. China’s a failed state, but they can still pack a punch for a while. I think you see the dilemma that we’re in. Anybody want to be president for a day? Yeah, you wonder how Trump is sleeping these days.
