You’d daily bread taken from Christ’s teaching of the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew chapter 6, verse 11. This is a daily devotion ministry focused not only on uplifting scripture, but Scripture that will grow your spiritual connection with Christ. We hope that you receive these devotions to uplift you, encourage you, but most importantly advance your knowledge base of the Holy Scriptures. Foreign. Discussion will be on who is the Serpent, Satan and the Devil the Bible introduces us to the makeup of Lucifer beginning in Genesis as the serpent.

We are not introduced to Lucifer until the book of Isaiah 14, verse 12. Satan was introduced in 2nd Corinthians 2, verse 11. God has a conversation with Satan in Job, but does not tell us who Satan is. That occurred in 2 Corinthians and we were introduced to the devil in Matthew 16, verse 23. The serpent in Genesis 3, verse 1. Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, yea, hath God said, ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden.

The term serpent is defined by Dictionary.com as a large snake and a sly or treacherous person, especially one who exploits a position of trust in order to betray it. If we break down the word serpent into its parts sir and pent, we get two meanings, sir and repent. The usage of the serpent in the ancient Hebrew lexicon means a large unknown sea animal, dragon or monster that produces fear, dread or being afraid from venom that causes one to burn. We find in Revelations 12, verse 9 that the serpent is the devil and Satan and the great dragon was cast out.

That old serpent called the devil and Satan which deceiveth the whole world. He was cast out into the earth and his angels were cast out with him. Another point here is that we are introduced to an animal called a great dragon. We will explore this later. We find that the serpent represents the tale of Lucifer as told to us in Revelations 9, verse 19. For their power is in their mouth and in their tails. For their tails were like unto serpents and had heads, and with them they do hurt. What appears to Eve in the garden was a shape shifting entity that presented himself as the body organ of Lucifer or the male reproductive organ.

Throughout Scripture the use of the term serpent means the body organ of Lucifer. We find this identification in Revelations 9, verse 19. For their power is in their mouth and in their tails. For their tails were like unto serpents and had heads, and with them they do hurt. And how they used their tails was told to us in Revelations 12, verse 9. And the great dragon was cast out that old serpent called the devil and Satan which deceiveth the whole world. He was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him in Revelations 12, verse 4.

And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered for to devour her child as soon as it was born. We are introduced to the entity called Lucifer in Isaiah 14, verses 12 through 17. How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning? How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations? For thou hast said in thine heart I will ascend into heaven I will exalt my throne above the stars of God.

I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation in the sides of the north. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds. I will be like the Most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell to the sides of the pit. They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee and consider thee saying, is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms, that made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof, that opened not the house of his prisoners? Isaiah lets us in on the fact that Lucifer was once in heaven and that at a point in time Lucifer was cut down to the ground and in doing so weakened nations.

This tells us that at that point in time there were spiritual beings that were vast to have created nations, meaning an earth with inhabitants prior to the formation of Adam, which we call the pre Adamite period. Isaiah goes on to tell us why Lucifer was cut down from heaven to earth. Lucifer rebelled against God. Lucifer said in thine heart, meaning this was not outward spoken words, but internal thoughts of Lucifer. His thoughts were the 1. I will ascend into heaven. 2. I will exalt my throne above the stars of God. 3. I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation in the sides of the north.

4. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds. 5. I will be like the Most High. The above points become the overall goal of Lucifer. At this point in time we are told that Lucifer did not want to get rid of God because he knew he could not. But he wanted to control God and the heavenly realm by shadowing God in the background. He wanted the rule of God’s apostolic government as a shadow government, just like we have today. The first deep state was created at this very point in time as the thought of Lucifer.

We learn more about this Lucifer entity in Ezekiel. We already know from Isaiah that Lucifer once was in heaven. However, we do not know the relationship of Lucifer with God or the position he held in God’s apostolic government. God was first in Lucifer’s life at one time and God gave him much how the Lord dressed him. Jewels and precious adornments, probably worth billions in today’s money, were his. We read God’s words in Ezekiel 28, verse 13. Thou hast been in Eden, the garden of God. Every precious stone was thy covering. The sardius topaz and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx and the Jasper, the sapphire, the emerald and the carbuncle and gold.

The workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou west created. In Ezekiel he was talking to Tyrus. Tyrus is the replica of Satan’s nature. In fact, if you read the whole chapter, you will find that Ezekiel was talking through Tyrus to the serpent himself. The first three stones stated in this passage are Sardius S, topaz, T and diamonds. D When we think about std, what comes to your mind? Sexually transmitted diseases. STD is one of the true natures of the serpent. Remember from book one, titled Earth, our original state.

We were made as spirit and God gave us no viruses or bacteria. In other words, all diseases come from the serpent. So if God put him in charge of the Garden of Eden and God being the same regardless, then the Garden of eden after Genesis 1, verse 1 and before Genesis 1 verse 2 must have been on the earth. God first created the heavens and earth in Genesis 1, verse 1. And for a period, Lucifer was the overseer of the spiritual beings God had created that resided in the Garden of eden between Genesis 1, verse 1 and Genesis 1, verse 2.

The heaven and earth existed with all its glory up until Lucifer rebelled against God and was separated from God, which created the earth as a wasteland. We are told of in Genesis 1, verse 2. And the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. If we look at Hebrew and see what the words were used for, without form or void, we find that Hebrew used the word Tohu V this rhyme was the first to be in the Bible.

However, this rhyme is found a number of times in the Bible after that. And as we study the usage of it, we find that it represents the chaos occurring in the Luciferic system called the Matrix. So in Genesis 1, verse 2, we find God introducing to us the law of duality by providing us the insight that God’s apostolic earth was now in total chaos. We have provided at the end of this book a rabbi word study of Tohu Vohu. At some point in time, which we know from history in time, some 6,000 years ago, God renovated the earth for a new beginning.

This renovation of earth again created the same environment that existed before the Lucifer rebellion. Heaven and earth were once again enjoined together. Scripture tells us that the Garden of Eden was on a mountaintop, housed on earth, but reached into heaven. So heaven and earth were connected circles crossed over, providing a common space known as eden. In Ezekiel 28, verse 14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth, and I have set thee so. Thou wast upon the holy mountain of God. Thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. From Scripture we find that Lucifer was the highest ranking cherub in God’s family.

He was given the responsibility of being the watcher of the holy mountain of God, Eden. Therefore, we now can understand that God created the heavens and earth. There was no darkness because no sin. Lucifer oversaw God’s holy mountain that resided on earth. However, with the rebellion of Lucifer, we find that Lucifer went from the highest cherub to to the worst demonic being ever known to God and all of mankind. We are introduced briefly to the character of Lucifer in the term Satan through a conversation God had with Satan in Job. The usage of the term Satan in Job is referred to a Lucifer character as being an adversary or an accuser.

When used as a proper name, the Hebrew word so rendered has the article the adversary. Job 1 verses 6 through 12 and 2 verses 1 through 7. In the new Testament it is used interchangeably with diabolos or the devil, and is used more than 30 times. The actual introduction to Lucifer as Satan was in 2 Corinthians 2:11. Lest Satan should get an advantage of us, for we are not ignorant of his devices and no marvel for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works.

He is also called the dragon, the old serpent, Revelation 12, verse 9 and 20, verse 2. The prince of this world, John 12, verse 31 and 14, verse 30. The prince of the power of the air, the God of this world, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience. The distinct personality of Satan and his activity among men are thus obviously recognized. He tempted our Lord in the wilderness Matthew 4:1 11 he is Beelzebub, the prince of the devils. He is the constant enemy of God, of Christ, of the divine kingdom, of the followers of Christ, and of all truth, full of falsehood and all malice, and exciting, and seducing to evil in every possible way.

His power is very great in the world. He is a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour first Peter 5:8 Men are said to be taken captive by him. Christians are warned against his devices and called on to resist him. Christ redeems his people from him that had the power of death, that is the devil. Satan has the power of death, not as Lord, but simply as executioner. Other names used throughout the Bible for Satan are as 1. Abaddon 2. Accuser of our brethren 3. Adversary 4. Angel of the bottomless pit Revelation 9, verse 11 5.

Apollyon 6. Beelzebub Matthew 12:24 Mark 3 verse 22 Luke 11 verse 15 7. Belial 2 Corinthians 6 verse 158 the devil Matthew 4 verse 1 Luke 4 2. Luke 4 verse 6 Revelation 20 verse 29 Enemy Matthew 13:39 10 Evil Spirit 1 Samuel 16 verse 1411 Father of lies John 8:44 12 Gates of hell Matthew 16:18 13 Great red dragon Revelation 12 verse 314 Liar John 8:44 15 Lying Spirit 1st Kings 22:22 16 Murderer John 8:44 17 Old serpent Revelation 12 verse 9 Revelation 20 verse 218 Power of darkness Colossians 1 verse 1319 Prince of this world John 12:31 John 14 verse 30 John 16 verse 1120 Prince of devils Matthew 12:24 21 Prince of the power of the air Ephesians 2 verse 222 Ruler of the darkness of this world Ephesians 61223 Satan 1st Chronicles 21 verse 1 Job 1 verse 6 John 1327 Acts 53 Acts 2618 Romans 16 verse 2024 Serpent Genesis 3 verse 4 Genesis 3 verse 142 Corinthians 11325 Spirit that worketh in the children of disobedience Ephesians 2, verse 226 Tempter Matthew 431 Thessalonians 3 verse 527 the God of this world 2 Corinthians 4428 Unclean spirit Matthew 12:43 29 Wicked one Matthew 1319 Matthew 13:38 30 Kingdom of to be destroyed 2 Samuel 23 verses 6 and 7 Matthew 12 verse 29 Matthew 1330 Luke 11, verses 21 and 221 John 3, verse 831 Synagogue of Revelation 2, verse 9 and Revelation 3.

9. Smith’s Bible Dictionary Defining Satan the word itself the Hebrew Satan is simply an adversary, and is so used in 29, verse 42 Samuel 19, 22 First Kings 6, verse 4, 11 Verses 14, 23 and 25 Numbers 22, verses 22 and 33 Psalms 109, verse 6. This original sense is still found in our Lord’s application of the name to St. Peter in Matthew 16, verse 23. It is used as a proper name or title only four times in the Old Testament, with the article in Job 1, verses 6 and 12, and chapter 2, verse 1 Zechariah 2, verse 1, and without the article in.

It is with the scriptural revelation on the subject that we are here concerned, and it is clear from this simple enumeration of passages that it is to be sought in the New rather than in the Old Testament. The personal existence of a spirit of evil is clearly revealed in Scripture, but the revelation is made gradually, in accordance with the progressiveness of God’s method. In the first entrance of evil into the world, the temptation is referred only to the serpent. In the book of Job we find for the first time a distinct mention of Satan, the adversary of Job.

But it is important to remark the emphatic stress laid on his subordinate position, on the absence of all but delegated power, of all terror, and all grandeur in his character. It is especially remarkable that no power of spiritual influence, but only a power over outward circumstances, is attributed to him. The captivity brought the Israelites face to face with the great dualism of the Persian mythology, the conflict of Ormuzd with Ahriman, the coordinate spirit of evil. But it is confessed by all that the Satan of Scripture bears no resemblance to the Persian Ahriman. His subordination and inferiority are as strongly marked as ever.

The New Testament brings plainly forward the power and the influence of Satan from the beginning of the Gospel, when he appears as the personal tempter of our Lord. Through all the Gospels, Epistles, and Apocalypse, it is asserted or implied again and again as a familiar and important truth of the nature and original state of Satan. Little is revealed in Scripture. He is spoken of as a spirit in Ephesians 2, verse 2, as the prince or ruler of the demons in Matthew 12, verses 24 through 26, and as having angels subject to him in Matthew 25, verse 41 Revelation 12, verses 7 and 9.

The whole description of his power implies spiritual nature and spiritual influence. We conclude, therefore, that he was of angelic nature, a rational and spiritual creature, superhuman in power, wisdom, and energy, and not only so, but an archangel, one of the princes of heaven. We cannot, of course, conceive that anything essentially and originally evil was created by God. We can only conjecture, therefore, that Satan is a fallen angel who once had a time of probation, but whose condemnation is now irrevocably fixed. As to the time, cause, and manner of his fall, so Scripture tells us scarcely anything.

But it describes to us distinctly the moral nature of the evil one. The ideal of goodness is made up of the three great moral attributes of love, truth, and purity, or holiness. Combined with that spirit, which is the natural temper of the finite and dependent, we find creature the spirit of faith. We find accordingly, opposites of qualities are dwelt upon as the characteristics of the devil. The power of Satan over the soul is represented as exercised either directly or by his instruments. His direct influence over the soul is simply that of a powerful and evil nature on those in whom lurks the germ of the same evil.

Besides this direct influence, we learn from Scripture that Satan is the leader of a host of evil spirits or angels who share his evil work, and for whom the everlasting fire is prepared. Of their origin and fall we know no more than of his but One passage, Matthew 12, verses 24 through 26, identifies them distinctly with the demons, devils who had power to possess the souls of men. They are mostly spoken of in Scripture in reference to possession but in Ephesians 6, verse 12, find them sharing the enmity to God, and are ascribed in various lights.

We find them sharing the enmity to God and man, implied in the name and nature of Satan but their power and action are little dwelt upon in comparison with his. But the evil one is not merely the prince of the demons he is called also the prince of this world in John 12, verse 31, 14, verse 30, 16, verse 11, and even the God of this world in 2 Corinthians 4, verse 4. The two expressions being united in Ephesians 6, verse 12. This power he claimed for himself as the delegated authority in the temptation of our Lord and the temptation would have been unreal, had he spoken altogether falsely.

The indirect action of Satan is best discerned by an examination of the title by which he is designated in Scripture. He is called emphatically ho diabolos, the devil. The derivation of the word in itself implies only the endeavour to break the bonds between others and set them at variance. But common usage adds to this general sense the special idea of setting at variance by slander. In the application of the title to Satan, both the general and special senses should be kept in view. His general object is to break the bonds of communion between God and man, and the bonds of truth and love which bind men to each other.

The slander of God to man is best seen in the words of Genesis 3, verses 4 and 5. They attribute selfishness and jealousy to the giver of all good. The slander of man to God is illustrated by the book of Job, Job 1, verses 9 through 11, and chapter 2, verses 4 and 5. The method of satanic action upon the heart itself. It may be summed up in two temptation and possession. The subject of temptation is illustrated not only by abstract statements, but also by the record of the temptations of Adam and of our Lord. It is expressly laid down, as in James 1:24, through that temptation, properly so called, I.e.

trial, is essential to man, and is accordingly ordained for him, and sent to him by God, as in Genesis 22, verse 1. It is this tentability of man, even in his original nature, which is represented in Scripture as giving scope to the evil action of Satan. But in the temptation of a fallen nature, Satan has a greater power. Every sin committed makes a man the servant of sin for the future. It therefore creates in the spirit of man a positive tendency to evil which sympathizes with and aids the temptation of the evil. 1. We are introduced to the nature of Lucifer by the term devil in Matthew 4, verse 1.

Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. It is in the nature of the devil that represents the counterfeit truth of Christ. It is the devil that tempts us in having a relationship with Lucifer, as Adonai, being God’s nature of a relationship with his creation. Remember every truth of God, Lucifer has a counterfeit truth. The devil is introduced in the New Testament as Christ is introduced in Revelations. John reveals to us the sophistication of Lucifer and his Luciferic system of deception and evil. We cannot begin to deal with the demonic world without an understanding of this sophistication.

The primary reason is that to defeat the demonic, we first must understand their system in order to expose it to the light. So to climax this discussion, let’s look at just who Lucifer is. If we write the term Lucifer from right to left as Hebrew, we get the word rhypical. Refocal is a Latin Vulgate word meaning recycling of fecal matter. Well, there you go. Lucifer is nothing but crap. Thank you for joining us in this exploration of who is the serpent, Satan and the devil. Until next time, remember to keep the faith, stay strong and continue to shine your light in the world.
