Well, you know, the governor went after him. The attorney general went after him because he wasn’t helping with deportation enough. Right. And he was being too picky. And I’ve actually told him this. I’m not sure on this. This is the first time this issue has ever come up. And I’ve never heard of this happening before. So Sheriff Marks came out and said, I will not respond and help deportation if I don’t have a legitimate lawful warrant because that’s what the Fourth Amendment requires. Now, I respect that he’s saying that and that he knows and understands the Constitution that well.
And he actually told me something in confidence that he said, Sheriff, I ran for sheriff because of you. He told me that. And he says your case had a lot to do with me running for county sheriff. So, you know, I, you know, he thrilled me with that. It was one of the greatest compliments I’ve ever had. But at the same time, he asked for my input and he also asked Chrisanne Hall. And so I’m trying to get back with him to see what Chrisanne opined about what he was doing. Because if one person, if a, okay, if a suspect, a little illegal alien is arrested in his county, they’re already under arrest to transfer them to a different law enforcement agency.
Why would that require a warrant? And so even extra additions don’t require warrants. They require similar, but it’s not a warrant. It’s an order from the governor that this person can be sent out of state back to the original jurisdiction. But if I send a letter to a neighboring state like New Mexico and say, hey, you’re holding so-and-so, can I come pick him up? When you’re ready to release him, can I come pick him up? Because he’s wanted in Arizona. And they’re going to say, well, yeah, send me a letter. They’re not going to require a warrant.
If they do, I mean, I’ll be happy to get it. But why? He’s already under arrest and we want to interview him or we want to, or we’re going to arrest him, you know? So, you know, a warrant would be easy to get. And I understand that. But I don’t see the necessity of a warrant in that particular case. And why would not a detention order be okay? And I’m not disagreeing with Sheriff Marks, because I totally appreciate his adherence to the Constitution. And we want him to be one of the speakers at our Washington State Conference, because folks, what you’ve got to understand and what your sheriffs have got to understand is that it is not up to the attorney general of the state.
It is not up to the governor. It’s not up to the legislature. It is not up to the county attorney or the county commissioners. It is up to the sheriff himself to determine if he’s going to help with deportation. Okay? It’s up to the sheriff and the people he works for. And that’s it. He does not answer to those other people. He doesn’t answer to the federal government. Tom Holman, he’s leaving to that. I cannot force sheriffs to help me. But I’ve warned him and we’ve warned him on the show. Don’t get in the way.
Don’t obstruct. Or you can be arrested. Okay? Okay. So other than that, but in Washington State, it’s just the opposite. They’re suing and going after sheriffs who are helping with deportation. Now we have this huge dichotomy between Iowa and Washington State. And so we want to go there, and we want to have our conference, folks. And we don’t have the money to do it. So we’re just, we usually get donations for our conferences, and we’re not getting them this year. And I’ve called the same people, and they’re not answering my phone, and it goes right to message, and I don’t think they want to talk to me.
And it, you know what, are they getting tired of this? Are they getting tired of being asked for money? Probably are. But, folks, we have such a shoestring budget anyway. And when we do these conferences to bring, okay, we want to get 20 sheriffs there from across the country. And we want them all to speak about the importance of a constitutional sheriff. And Sheriff Marks will be one of the top billing. And then Sheriff Wagner in Washington State would be a good one also. And we want them to speak. And then Sheriff Leaf coming in to speak.
And maybe former Sheriff Lamb and another, we would love to have Call Your County Sheriff Rob Musk, who now has signed off with his county commissioners to make Call Your County Florida a constitutional sanctuary, a sanctuary for the Bill of Rights. So we hope to get that sheriff there. And so, you know, some of these meetings we’ve had have cost over $100,000. The last one we did in Las Vegas was about $55,000. So I’m sure we could do it for $40,000. And so far, we’ve raised about $8,000. So can we do the conference with that? Yeah, I could take my wife and me and a couple of others and hopefully have Sheriff some Oregon and Washington and California show up and that they pay their own way and they come and want to participate.
So Sheriff Leekoff in El Dorado County, California, good constitutional sheriff, good friend. And I think I’m pretty sure he would come. So, and sheriffs have too many meetings. So some of them get tired of going to meetings too. So, yeah. [tr:trw].
