Summary
➡ Growing up, my family focused more on discipline than nurturing, which led to a lack of understanding about adulthood and parenthood. My mother, a strong figure, was more dominant than nurturing, and my father, who was not prepared for fatherhood, turned to alcohol and became abusive. Despite the hardships, I learned to be independent and self-reliant. The biblical story of Adam and Eve taught me that men and women are created differently, with women being intricately fashioned by God, and that every woman is under God’s protection, whether single or married.
➡ Women are encouraged to value their divine connection and their role as helpers, which is not about servitude but about bringing God’s strength into relationships. They should be active participants in decision-making, offering their unique perspectives. The imbalance in relationships arises when both parties fail to embrace these principles. Women have been wrongly conditioned to sideline themselves, but they are crucial to God’s plan and should fully participate in all aspects of life, including marriage.

What is interesting for me personally is that I kind of like to change shoes, so to speak. I get to review and discuss a subject that allows me to wear my wife’s shoes and look, hopefully through her lenses, what it means to be a kingdom woman, especially living with this man with all my faults and issues most men have. I found that in my research on this subject, I didn’t need to become transgender-like to see what God tells us a kingdom woman should be. I found that the man’s particular perspective, in most cases, is not based upon what the Scriptures have to say about the role of a woman in God’s kingdom, but more on the lines of what you can do for me, a worldly viewpoint.
What I found in all my research is that women are indispensable to men. Our lives, as men, would be solely impacted without a godly woman in our lives. From a man’s perspective, I am quite glad that God created women, as He did. Instead of the burly-looking guy, He created a woman with all the shapes and curves and outward beauty that is very pleasing to man and what he visually sees. This is not to say that man should have roving eyes, or anything else for that matter. But I’m saying that it makes it so much better to look at someone that has beauty instead of a burly figure that looks like a man.
One can only imagine why major clothing stores display mannequins that are extravagantly dressed and beautifully shaped. This display catches the eye of any bypasser. It is the woman who displays the man. Let me say that again. It is the woman who displays the man. God’s definition of a woman living for the kingdom is one that continuously lives her life underneath the obedience covenant of God. We can restate this in another way. A woman who positions herself, places herself, and operates underneath the rule of God in their life, permeates God, and by her positioning, placement, and actions, she displays the beauty of God’s kingdom.
However, this is not the case in every woman’s life. A woman might look like a high-class model on the outside, but on the inside she feels like a bargain basement specimen. It is only when women understand the value of a woman of God’s kingdom that it changes the mindset and value proposition greatly. In Genesis 1, verses 26 and 27, KJV, And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he, him, male and female, created he them. God just didn’t set out to make man. In his creation plan, as stated in verse 27, he said, Let us make man and female in our own image. So it was in his plan to create male first, the spin-off, a portion of the man, to create female, creating two individual beings that he gave together dominion over the earth. His plan was to be two individuals, but together they were to create a family which is the foundation of the entire earth.
So besides what all our teachings have been up to this point in our lives, we, men, need to understand that in God’s plan of creation, the male and female creations were of equal stature in God’s plans. Women were not planned nor created to be second-class citizens or suppressed as our cultural societies around the world place them in. Women were to be fully understood, used, and fully valued in God’s design of humanity. This is why in 1 Peter 3 verse 7 KJV, Likewise ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.
God will not even listen to a man’s prayers when he doesn’t treat his wife equal. So, woman, if you have a man in your life that is not treating you as equal, then he is disobeying God and causing the prayers from being heard. God planned from the very start of creation to place the family, the home, at the centre of all things earth. God is telling us in the 1 Peter verse that he will not do anything if the two are not made one in the mind of God and obedient to God.
He planned it that way, and his creation and all the structures of authority are based upon this simple but yet complex principle. So, women living in God’s Kingdom through obedience are required to not allow a man or woman to treat them any less than what God set forth in his creation as equal among all. God’s plan is to have them to be an equal participant and an equal partner in his Kingdom plan in everything of life. This was placed into his legal covenant through the covenant with humanity and went even further in the covenant of marriage.
The covenant with humanity was the covenant to rule, have dominion over all things on earth. Therefore, with the covenant of marriage, woman, you are not an accessory. You are a full partner with full participation and with full voting rights equal to the man you are married to. Women, you are critical to the programme that God set forth for his Kingdom here on earth and in the heavens. Throughout our culture in the United States and to some extent around the world, the culture has defined your role. This role was not as a helper as God intended, but one of subhuman beings.
A person looked down at, a person expected to be a servant to the wishes of men, one who had no stature in society except as a symbol of pleasure. These are the main reasons that we need to have this discussion about women’s role in God’s Kingdom. It is our wish that women, everywhere, will seek out the truth and get back underneath the obedience covenant of God and be protected and blessed in accordance to his plan, a Kingdom woman. I stated when I started this chapter that this was going to be hard for me to write, not because God has given me the details as to what to say, but seeing how my life measures up to what I am saying.
You know the old proverbial phrase, walk the walk. Well, I have to admit that in my previous years of life, I struggled with this greatly. As we will find in the next chapter discussing the Kingdom family, if we do not raise our children to become Kingdom children, then they take on the characteristics of the world and live worldly. This means, for men, they are not following the principles of Christ in dealing with their wife as God requires. Lose the listening to pray and reap the harvest they sow. My childhood was less about childhood and more about becoming an adult as fast as I could.
The purpose was mostly because my parents really had no childhood either, and because of that they thought that raising a child ought to be how they were raised. As parents, we know that children do not come out with an operating manual. But what we fail to realise is that there is an operating manual, and it is in reading it we learn as to how to raise children. That operating manual is the Bible. I have found it full of operating instructions that focus on what the father should do, what the mother should do, what the parents should do together, and what the children should do.
What failed, my childhood, and many, probably reading this chapter, is that our parents were not taught about this operating manual, and had no basis of understanding child-rearing activities. My parents were raised during the years of depression, and my dad had to quit school at eight years old to work on the farm to aid in the support of the family. In my father’s family of eight children, it was only the youngest who was able to attend school and finish, and was the only one that attended college and graduated. All of the children at age eight or around that age had to quit school and support the family.
My father’s parents wanted the children to learn the basics of life, reading, writing, and arithmetic, to support them in functioning in life, but their primary duties were to the family. My dad had no childhood either. Yes, after chores were done, the boys in the surrounding farms got together to play baseball and other sports, but the growing up years slipped by in all the societal chaos and necessities of the home. My dad’s home was focused on the discipline required to get the children focused on the family instead. This is not all bad. The good part of this is they understood the need for, respect for, and love for the family.
The bad part about all of this is that instead of learning about childhood, then as they grew, the learning required to transition into adulthood, and then finally the adult life, and how men and women interact and the raising of children, they were taught strong discipline and direction instead of love and nurturing. The outcome was a dictatorship. My mother’s family had two marriages. My mother, being the oldest of the three girls, had her biological father killed in World War I, and her mother remarried, and had two more girls with her second husband.
My mother was able to complete school and went to college for a small time when her family could not support her college efforts, and she had to quit and get a job. My mother was too young to even remember her biological father, so her childhood training and that of future parenthood came from the interaction between her biological mother and her stepfather. What I came to realise about my mother as she had a very strong mother, one that played the part of wearing the pants in the family. So her version of the female was controller.
I am reminded of the movie called Dancing with Wolves. A particular scene when Dunbar, Kevin Costner, asked the character played by Mary Macdonald what her name was. She stood up and presented a fist and said, stands with a fist. This is exactly what could be an example of my mother. Not in a physical way, but in an emotional dominant way. When my father and mother met and got married, it was more of a physical relationship than the emotional, physical and love relationship that God seeks out for everyone. Neither was in church. They knew of God, but not a believer of God as being saved through the salvation of faith.
It was the second marriage for my dad and my mother’s first and only one. They are perceived to have three children with another lost in childbirth. They found their lives now very complicated and required some level of responsibility. Not only responsibility financially for their new lives, but emotional, which neither had been trained in that area. Instead of a loving and nurturing home, what do you think me and my two siblings were raised in? I bet you can guess and you most likely would be right. Cutting this short, my dad was demanding not wanting children, but adults.
This pressure and the dominance of my mother drove him further into alcohol. He became abusive to not only my mother, but to me. My sisters, while abused, did not have the heavy hand he gave to me. The abuse came from other family sources. My mother wanted the attention of my father, and my father wanted to run away. Both buried themselves in work and little to nothing for the children. On top of that, all three children had some type of illness that required them to pay attention to us. For me, I was born with asthma, and for 18 months out of the first two years of life I lived in an oxygen tent.
I could not drink milk or any citrus, and in those days there were no alternatives, so my dad raised me primarily on beer. Cutting through this nightmare, let’s leave it here by saying, I raised myself, paid my way in the family at a very young age, and was never taught about anything related about childhood, transitioning into adulthood, or even the responsibility as a father in the home. I learned how to work, provide and do my own thing. Only some of the conditions of a good husband and father, but very little. Instead of trusting in God to provide, I did it all on my own.
You can now see that I was not prepared for marriage, much less fatherhood when it happened. Now you may understand why this subject is so difficult, but so important to me to address. I am facing some of my personal demons in this process. When God made man and woman, he created man first. This was on purpose. Once he made man, Adam, he then took from man a rib and formed woman, Eve. Let’s get one thing straight. The woman is made how God wanted in all his beauty through her. Man did not create a woman, and therefore has no control over her.
It is the woman who determines her destination. Women will laugh at this. The only thing man did was take a nap in this whole process. That was his only contribution to the formation of woman. Sound familiar to most? A thought to all of this. Adam was put to sleep. Taken from him was a rib. The rib was used to fashion. In Hebrew, the word create means fashion with intricate detail, woman. Because of this, he was the man he was created to be. In order for Adam to get his rib back, he had to accept the woman.
This means he gave up a rib and received back a person. So for men to get their rib back, they have to accept the woman with all of the other attributes she brings. So, from the man’s perspective, this was a good thing. Some men who have not been taught about adulthood, marriage and fatherhood, they want the rib back and all the pleasure things that come with that, but they don’t want the attributes a woman brings. Woman, you got to love this. When God created man, he picked up some dirt and just threw it together.
If I were to put a price on my creation, it maybe would be about $20 worth of dirt. But when God made the woman, he took his time. He fashioned her. He stitched it and organized it with all the curves that would be pleasing to the eye and fit the man. There is another point to make as to which God figure was used in the fashioning of women. Scriptures tell us that the Lord God made Eve. Genesis 1, when we find the word God dealing with creation, the Hebrew word for God is translated for Elohim, the power God, the God of creation.
In Genesis 2, the Lord God is used, which in Hebrew is Jehovah, or the revealing God, the relationship God. When God created man, Adam, he was the power God, the God that ruled over Adam. When God fashioned women, he called himself Jehovah, or Yahweh, the relationship God. It was the Elohim God that did all of creation and took the rib from Adam, but it was the relationship God Jehovah, or Yahweh, that fashioned Eve. This was because God was signifying the relationship he had made for Eve, not just with God, but with Adam.
Just like when God created Adam as a single man, he created Eve as a single woman. Scriptures tell us in Genesis 2, verse 22, KJV, And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made him a woman, and brought her unto the man, that God brought Eve to Adam. This means that when God made Eve, he made her as a single woman. There was no marriage until God brought Adam and Eve together as a couple. So women, whatever time it took from God fashioning Eve until he brought her to Adam, she belonged to God as a kingdom woman.
Now this superset of events is exactly what has happened throughout the replication of life. Single women who are born have basically two fathers, an earthly biological father and also a biological father in heaven. In my book, God’s Family Affair, we prove that we as humans have a DNA tied back to God. Woman, before you get married to a single man, you by Scripture are married to God. It is he who gives you away to become a kingdom wife. Think about that statement for a moment. At the time, a baby girl is born, and given to the protection of her earthly biological parents, she is also tied to God as her heavenly father.
And as she matures up, and until she is earthly married, she is to be married to the Lord. So God does not see any woman as being husbandless, until an earthly husband is matted with the woman, and even after the woman is under the protection of God as his bride. Women may say, oh, I am single and don’t have a husband earthly or otherwise. Well, according to Isaiah 54, verses 5 and 6, KJV, For thy Maker is thine husband, the Lord of hosts is his name, and thy Redeemer the holy one of Israel.
The God of the whole earth shall he be called. For the Lord hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God. We find that it is the Lord that is your husband as a single woman. It is the Lord that takes responsibility over you and your wellbeing. Women should think this way. Until you have been connected on earth with an earthly husband, you are connected to heaven with a divine husband. Therefore, women, do not let any earthly husband mess you up in your connection with your divine husband, who has the authority to define what your individual reality will be.
1. Now the subject most dreaded is the subject of the woman as a helper. God said in Genesis 2, verse 18, KJV, And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone, I will make him and help meet for him. Women find themselves basically a slave, mainly because they truly do not know what it means to be a helper. The Hebrew word for helper is actually two words, esa kenegdo. Esa is used throughout 66 times in scripture. This esa speaks of God’s strength, power and protection, help and being a rescuer.
The word kenegdo means to be a counterpart. So when the two words are together, it means a collaborator of God’s strength. It means someone who brings to any relationship the full weight of God’s strength into any situation, not a secretary. Women, I am sure you will love these next statements. If you have a man in your life, married or otherwise, he has no right to make decisions without your advice, though feelings and contribution is not fully valued. The man in your life is worse off by not taking in consideration everything you have to offer, because God puts you into the marriage, having a different perspective, but one that God has given you with his full strength.
The problem with many marriages or relationships is the women want the men to embrace these concepts, while at the same time the men want the women to embrace them. And until each embrace these principles individually, the relationship cannot be used as God intended. The shutdown of the women throughout history has programmed them to not even know that God has given them a collaborator role in relationships. They don’t think for themselves. They don’t seek God’s truth to understand and create knowledge and wisdom. They have been told all their life where their place is, and they have never been given a way out.
However, God tells you he is the way, and as your divine husband, you are to go to him to seek guidance. He created you in his image and made you the collaborator in all relationships. God has called all women to be a full participant in his kingdom agenda here on earth. It is so unfortunate that women have been raised and programmed to think they are only to be on the sidelines. This is far from the truth. God will not bless a marriage by only blessing one person in the marriage. God will not bless the man if the woman is not a full participant, and God will not bless the woman unless she allows the man to assume his authoritative role in the marriage.
This is not an iron fist, but one of God’s protection and blessing through his marriage covenant. So, ladies who are listening to this, you are critical to the program of God and bring to the table of marriage a full participation in every decision made.
