9-2 The Laws of Obedience

There have been many names for this law, the law of authority and obedience, and the moral law. In any case, this law is defined as complying with a command or precept given by one in authority. It is not as a transitory or isolated act, but rather as a virtue or principle of righteous conduct. It is then said to be the moral habit by which one carries out the order of his superior with the precise intent of fulfilling the request. But when we look to the association of obedience and the universal laws, the act of complying to a command or precept is much broader in its meaning.

The meaning here is the obedience of not only one, but the many. Nature is to be in balance 100% of the time. In nature, this balance is not only within those things we think of as trees, plants, etc., but it includes all physical life forms. Therefore, to balance nature, every physical life form must constantly obey the command or precept given to us by our source. To not obey these commands is to not have nature in balance and as such out of total alignment spiritual with source. It is in this broader understanding that we must obey our source’s commands.

In the study by Bob Proctor on the eleven forgotten universal laws, he states that, when we all submit to the rules, the entire system we are a part of works in an orderly and efficient manner. If one or more of us disobey the rules, it can all fall apart. Even business is founded on obedience. Did you ever hear of the saying, the chain is only as strong as its weakest link, or a team is only as strong as its weakest member? Moving on in the Torah and Biblical translation, we are directed to the story of Noah and the Mark.

We move through the story to the end of the flood, when God made the Noahic covenant with Noah. This covenant was the same as the Adamic covenant in many respects, but since God had destroyed the evil side of Adam’s offsprings, he took favour with Noah and used him to protect his creation of all living things of the earth that was created in the beginning. In Genesis 9, verse 1, we find that God blessed Noah and his sons and said unto them, be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth. These are the same words given to Adam in the story of Adam and Eve, but here we have chosen to pick them up again for our next series of laws, because it was at this time we know that whatever Noah and his sons were fruitful of, multiply children and beast unto themselves and replenishment of the earth is really where creation begins again.

Due to the flood that destroyed all the living things of the earth, it was the act of Noah in obedience to God in gathering all of God’s requests and placing them in the ark that we have, what we have today. So it is here we look at nature beginning. So in order to replenish the earth and be fruitful, God had to tell Noah what he had to gather and bring into the ark as the supply of what it was that Noah was to replenish the earth with. This provides us with the next law, the law of supply.

The law of supply. When we think about the law of supply, most of us will think of the economic law of supply and demand, and not the spiritual law of supply. However, if we think about even the economic law of supply and demand, we cannot have this law without having first the spiritual law of supply. It is through this spiritual law of supply that all is given. Now looking at this as it relates to the creation of man, the commission of God and the relationships of the universe, supply, takes on a broader meaning than provisioning for us.

We have learned from the ancient writings that man was created in God’s own image. As such, our lives in this physical form are never the victim of any unjust act or laws. We live in obedience to God’s spiritual law of abundant supply. God’s creation depends upon Him for its maintenance, enlightenment and joy, and all these He invariably supplies. Wherever the demand is, supply flows to meet it as naturally as to human sense. Fresh air comes in when a window is opened. To understand this principle of supply is key to the understanding that the universe has an unlimited supply of everything, and there is no shortage.

Truly becoming aware of these infinitive sources is vital to being able to attract anything into your life. We pick up in the story of Noah in Genesis 9 verse 7 where God repeats what He tells Noah in verse 1, but adds these words, bring forth abundantly in the earth. When you consider the law of supply and these words together, then we get the next law, the law of abundance. From it we are told to multiply and do it abundantly, then what we have is an abundant supply of everything.
