Hi, this is Marjorie Wildcraft with Homesteading Basics and today we’re going to answer the question, is it more water and time efficient to wash your vegetables with you while you’re in the shower? Okay, so you’ve just harvested your fabulous, beautiful organic vegetables. Look at this. I love these Trumbachino squash. Check it out on the Grow Network blog. There’s some really wonderful posts on how to grow this thing. Anyway, you’ve just harvested all your vegetables and we had Kramer. Yes, Kramer from Seinfeld asks, is it more efficient, you know Kramer, right? Is it more efficient to wash your vegetables with you when you’re in the shower, or should you do it some other way? And Kramer, here’s the answer.

If you’re growing your own homegrown organic vegetables and all they are washed is with rainwater and there’s no chemicals or pesticides or anything on them, you don’t need to wash them at all. In fact, whatever little things that they have on it is going to be really good for your gut and your gut nutrition. So don’t wash that stuff off. Eat it. In fact, if it’s even got a little bit of dirt, that’s probably going to be good for you too. So thanks for sending that in, Kramer. We appreciate it. Keep them coming.

This is Marjorie Wildcraft and if you’ve got a question, please send it in. Drop it in the comments box and subscribe to our newsletter or our channel here and I’ll catch you with the next Homesteading Basics. Thanks for watching. [tr:trw].
